Meet Elizabeth Burgi of Elizabeth Burgi Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Burgi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was 10 years old, my father, gave me my first 35 mm camera on a family trip to Yosemite. I was hooked! I later took a photography class in high school and was so passionate about it that I went on to earn a visual arts degree from UC San Diego.

When I first moved to Los Angeles I did a lot of headshot and portraits. When a family friend asked me to photograph their wedding I thought they were nuts but I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved all the details and how happy everyone was. Wedding photography is one of my specialties but I also love doing lifestyle and family portraits. It’s so fun photographing someone’s wedding and then their family. You really become more than just a “wedding photographer”.

Has it been a smooth road?
I think my biggest struggle was leaping into photography full time. I was working a full-time job and doing wedding/lifestyle photography on the weekends. I was scared to leave something stable and jump into my dream job. I’m so glad I went for it. It was the best decision I ever made.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Elizabeth Burgi Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in wedding photography. I believe that posed and candid photos both have important roles to play and that natural lighting can bring out the very best in a photo. My style is fun and classic and I never shy away from pops of color! I specialize in bringing a friendly and personal approach to each and every job. I’m proud of the quality of work I give to my clients.

What are your plans for the future? What are you looking forward to or planning for – any big changes? 
I’m recently engaged and my fiancé is a wedding videographer. We already work together but we will be combining our businesses which is very exciting!
