Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Arrazola.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Eddie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been doing all kinds of Martial arts since I was a kid. But I started teaching boxing in 2007, I moved out to LA from NY to pursue acting but got here at the start of a writer’s strike. My boxing coach and mentor Martin Snow of the Trinity Boxing Club said I should try teaching and that it would help keep me busy. Little did I know I would love it so much.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Believe it or not when I started, boxing wasn’t “in” like it is now. People were really intimidated by the term boxing training. Getting clients to try it was really hard! But once they did they realized how much goes into it, the technical aspect and mental discipline it takes, and how it can be beneficial in real life.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Alpha Team Training and The Wolf Pack – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Alpha Team is a private training company that helps you reach your highest potential physically but more important mentally. I am known for training you like a fighter, I teach men and women how to really fight, teaching Boxing and Muay Thai. You will learn real technique and strategy. I specialize in preparing people in the entertainment industry for future projects. I have clients ranging from the X-Men to the Beverly Hills House wives.
I am most proud of the youth program, it’s called the Wolf Pack and is an anti-bullying boxing program for boys and girls. They are split into two groups 8-13 and 14-18 and they meet twice a week. What sets us apart from other programs is I don’t believe in sheltering kids from bullying. It’s unrealistic. There are bullies in every stage of life and if young kids aren’t taught to deal with it the right way early on they are going to have a really hard time when they get out into the world. The kids wear uniforms and have to shake everyone’s hand starting with adults when they walk in the gym. They also are given homework assignments at school making them talk to kids outside of their group of friends. They are taught to see both sides of the bullying to help better understand why it might be happening.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would like to continue to train privately and make a difference in people’s lives and preparing them for their goals. I would however like to expand the Wolf Pack with more students. I have several older kids who are themselves now becoming excellent coaches and will start to help me with the younger classes. My goal is to have enough students that I can give more scholarships to kids from less fortunate situations. I have a few now but it’s hard to manage equipment and uniforms for them.
