Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Chianni Lin.
Dr. Chianni, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey didn’t begin in a modern medical clinic or an academic lecture hall; it began in Taiwan, in the traditional apothecary and practice of my grandparents. As a child, I watched them read the body’s silent map. They didn’t just look at symptoms; they looked at the soul, the environment, and the individual’s internal rhythm. They taught me that healing isn’t a transaction—it is an art form of profound listening. I inherited more than a profession from them; I inherited a lineage.
When I came to the United States, I wanted to anchor that ancient, multi-generational wisdom in the highest level of modern clinical excellence. I earned my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Emperor’s College, one of the preeminent Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine programs in the U.S., bridging the gap between rigorous traditional acupuncture and herbology and modern, evidence-based wellness.
Over the years, my practice evolved as I realized that the fast-paced, high-stress lifestyle of Los Angeles was leaving people deeply depleted. I integrated my work as a yoga teacher—focusing on breath and energy movement—into my clinical practice. Today, the Center for Acupuncture & Anti-Aging Medicine in Santa Monica stands as a sanctuary where that ancient Taiwanese lineage meets modern longevity. We’ve grown into a destination for those who aren’t just looking to manage their health, but to radically transform it.
I am blessed to now be highly respected as one of the leading Eastern Integrative Medicine providers serving Santa Monica. I am:
Nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine
Board-certified and licensed in California
A member of the California State Oriental Medical Association
Trained in Facial Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Acupuncture
My unique approach to facial rejuvenation integrates the teachings of renowned experts from Taiwan, Korea, and Japan.
I am also a certified and highly experienced yoga teacher. My yoga certifications include pre- and post-natal certifications and an Advanced Relax and Renew restorative certification. I have been featured on the front cover of Yoga Journal and in Complete Home Practice, a DVD series put out by Yoga Journal.
What I love about Eastern Medicine is that it seeks to understand and treat the body’s underlying conditions (vs just treating symptoms), with the goal of transforming the patient into a higher level of long-term health, stability, and wellness.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The path to becoming a doctor and opening my own center took several turns. When I graduated from college, I decided to see the world and chose not to go to medical school in Taiwan. After years of travel, I moved to the U.S. 17 years ago. The transition to the U.S. was challenging. A different culture and language were exciting. However, finding the right career path took time.
Initially, I dove into the world of yoga, which I love. After teaching at some of the leading yoga studios in SF and LA, appearing on the cover of Yoga Journal, and being part of a yoga DVD series, I decided it was time to pursue my ultimate passion: becoming a doctor. Fifteen years later, with a doctorate degree from one of the top schools in the country (Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine), here I am.
I love working with my patients to improve their health and the quality of their lives. The opening of the Center for Acupuncture & Anti-Aging Medicine has allowed me to fulfill a dream.
One of the biggest hurdles in our journey has been navigating a Western medical system that teaches patients to be passive consumers of “quick fixes” rather than active investors in their own vitality.
When our primary insurance network left California at the end of 2023, it was a challenging time—we lost a significant stream of patient flow overnight. Many patients literally cried in our lobby because they loved the care, but they were bound to a co-pay. That was our wake-up call. We chose to pivot primarily into a premium, cash-based model that expanded our already robust facial rejuvenation and fertility acupuncture practice. It was a significant risk, but it forced us to reclaim our freedom to practice as my grandparents taught me. And allow me the time to properly treat our patients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Center for Acupuncture & Anti-Aging Medicine?
The Center for Acupuncture & Anti-Aging Medicine is not a clinic; it is a sanctuary. We specialize in three primary, premium target areas: Advanced Facial Rejuvenation, Comprehensive Anti-Aging, and Holistic Fertility support. Along with our normal practice to treat chronic pain and other disorders.
We are perhaps best known for being a “last resort” for individuals who have spent months going from doctor to doctor, trying medication after medication for chronic pain, anxiety, and digestive issues, only to feel worse. When Western medicine fails to find an answer, patients come to us to rebuild their internal ecosystem from the ground up through our clinical 10-Week Health Improvement Program.
Brand-wise, I am incredibly proud that we are one of the top-rated centers for cosmetic and facial acupuncture on Google and Yelp in Los Angeles. Our 10-Session Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Package treats aging as a biological imbalance. We utilize an artist’s precision to trigger your body’s natural collagen production and microcirculation. We don’t give you a “frozen face”; we give you a vibrant, ageless radiance that is entirely your own.
I want readers to know that we sell transformation, not transactions. Whether you are navigating an intricate fertility journey or seeking to erase ten years of stress from your face, you are receiving bespoke, 1:1 care from a Doctor of Acupuncture who carries a multi-generational lineage.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most profound lesson I’ve learned is that outer radiance is entirely a reflection of inner vitality. You cannot shortcut health, and you cannot inject life into a tired spirit.
In Los Angeles, people spend thousands of dollars masking their symptoms or altering their appearance from the outside, while their nervous systems are fraying and their bodies are crying out for balance. True longevity—true, vibrant health—only happens when you possess the courage to treat the source, not the symptom.
I’ve learned to trust the wisdom of the body and the power of the medicine passed down to me. When you hold a space of absolute clinical authority, deep empathy, and uncompromising quality, the right patients will find you.
Living those lessons has allowed us to receive over 125 five-star reviews and make the Center for Acupuncture & Anti-Aging Medicine one of the premier centers for healing in the U.S.
