Today we’d like to introduce you to Donny Daydream
Hi Donny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
grew up with listening to music that my sister would play around the house. Fell in love with singing. Obviously growing up in an Asian family, I never thought to pursue it. But after moving out at 18 and dropping out of college, I realized I had to do something with my life. And I was taught to work hard. So if I had to work hard, I might as well choose something I really love to work hard at. Hence, music.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Money. Identity. Making money and paying bills and surviving in general WHILE chasing your dreams is the struggle. And Alo’s identity, finding who you are in your art
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an artist. Making music is what I do. I love it. Focusing on an indie pop rnb sound. I would say what sets me apart is my drive and passion and love for it. There’s always someone better out there but only you know deep down how much you really love it and want it. And I love it and I’m willing to put in the work.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think choosing this path in itself is the biggest risk. Nothing is guaranteed. And if there wasn’t risk, then where’s the fun?
