Meet Dominic Pace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominic Pace.

Dominic, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been a working TV/ Film actor for more than 15 years in Hollywood. Most notable Guest Stars have been NYPD Blue, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, and soon to be NCIS: Los Angeles airing this February.

With over 100 principal IMDb credits, I’ve managed to stay alive in this business with Grit and Determination. Over the past two years, I’ve had recurring roles on NBC’s hit comedy, Superstore, along with appearing in various sketches for Jimmy Kimmel Live. In 2004, I was awarded Best Actor at the Palm Beach International Film Festival for my performance in the indie feature, Little Kings.

This year, I will also be starring in the indie feature, Anonymous Killers, along with a strong supporting role in the feature film, Psychosis opposite Tyler Mane (Halloween/X-Men). I will be featured on Season 2 of HBO’s Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Dark Comedy, Barry, Starring Bill Hader, and Henry Winkler. I’ve also landed a featured role in a movie and TV franchise I’ve dreamt of being a part of since I was in grade school. I am not permitted to discuss the show or name it at this time, but it will release in November.

I was born in White Plains, NY and began Off-Broadway at the age of 18 in the hit comedy, Tony and Tina’s Wedding. Since 2002, I have been working consistently on Crime Dramas airing on various National Networks. Mostly cast as a Guard, Cop, or Bouncer, I also have a handful of Stunt Credits to my name. Most recently I performed opposite Jean Claude Van Damme in Amazon’s Jean Claude Van Johnson.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to do some ‘behind the scenes’ voices on various Feature Films. Most recently, I have added additional dialogue to Films such as Lowriders Starring Eva Longoria, Stano Starring Joe Manganiello, and Clemency Starring Alfre Woodard.

Has it been a smooth road?
Though I have been fortunate to work consistently as an actor, nothing has been easy.

Most jobs last one or two days, and after that, you have to sustain an income with various odd jobs. It’s a tough balance as I have never received a steady paycheck. Odd jobs have consisted of Waiting Tables, Driving, Moving Companies, Event Set Ups, as well as Delivery Service.

Only jobs you can take as an actor or those with flexibility so, therefore, you have a limited choice of jobs that are more or less low paying. In between all of this, I have to prepare and attend countless auditions where the competition usually runs 30-40 other people vying for the same role.

Very rarely does one TV or Film booking leads to the next role, so that makes sustaining a career even more difficult. You have to have very tough skin, along with a tremendous amount of determination.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am an actor. I believe what sets me apart from others is a very strong level of resilience and commitment. Most aspiring actors cannot sustain the journey for over 20 years. I also love what I do.

Sometimes the pay may not be great, but because of my love of the art, I don’t mind the undulation and struggle of the day to day life pursuing entertainment entails. I am most proud that I never gave up, and just now after 20 plus years, I am starting to see the positive results of staying focused.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Ideally, I’d love to be a Series Regular in a major Network Crime Drama. I strongly believe I can achieve that. I’ve been grateful to have a solid team. My agent Natalie Kollar of LA Talent, and my Manager of CA Talent believe in me very much. I love that they’re just as passionate to have me succeed. I also have a lot of love in my life.

Over the years, I’ve been involved in a tremendous amount of charities as a way to give back to those less fortunate. I have been involved with the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, Women’s Center Downtown of Los Angeles, as well as the LA Mission which helps the homeless. The 5-year goal is not only to help myself, but also to help others.
