Meet Diana Perfilieva of T-dress in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Perfilieva.

Diana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We worked together with Kostya under his brand Omelya for several years. He did a ready-to-wear line including all types of apparel like tops, dresses, pants, etc. For the spring-summer 2015 collection, Kostya created one particular dress which was based on an oversize T-shirt with “Relax” print and embellished with ostrich feather decor. This piece received huge attention during PFW among street-style photographers, and as a result, appeared in the main fashion magazines in the world. That time fashion industry was changing dramatically and I saw an opportunity to launch the new brand with a new business model, by cutting out the middleman and focusing on one type of product and relying on prioritizing in-house online retail, building an engaged community in social media, and developing strong relations with influencers. That’s how digitally native vertical brand T-dress was born.

Now, T-Dress is growing several times per year. It is popular among clients and influencers. It is known for the funky dresses with a perfect fit, which suits any figure type and are very comfortable.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurial life always has its ups and downs. It is happening almost every day and the most important is to stay positive and move forward. The biggest struggle, when you can’t find the common vision with your co-founder. Such situations always stop the growth of the company and even provoking regress and slow down. Communication in a team and especially with the co-founder requires a lot of time and effort. To have energy always stay motivated and motivate your team is one of the secrets of the success of the company.

T-dress – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
T-dress – is the first digitally native vertical brand for girls with party at heart, who loves to stand out from the crowd, have fun and feel comfortable. Known for vivid eye-catchy dresses, which are made on the base of an oversize cotton T-shirt and decorated by hand with fancy decor. By engaging directly with consumers we create products on-demand and delivers them made-to-order rethinking the way of how retail works. A number of US celebrities and influencers choose T-dress outfits for the special events like: Caroline Vreeland, Shea Marie, Dytto, Chloe and Halle, Alina Baikova, etc.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There are a lot of moments happening all the time but I will tell you about the recent one. T-dress was chosen to create the dresses for Barbie doll, which will be presented at the big department stores. It is a special project dedicated to the celebration of Barbie 60th anniversary this year. We did 3 of our most remarkable dresses for her like this one https://omelyatdress.com/en/home/555-t-dress-party-or-die-with-boa.html and I am really proud of this as I even couldn’t imagine in my childhood that Barbie will be dressed up in my brand. 🙂
