Meet Sunflower and Dazey of Niche Cafes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunflower Verbeck and Dazey Staggs.

Sunflower and Dazey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We are currently writing a whole book about the process of our journey. So it’s quite a long story! We will summarize for ya.

We have been manifesting a cafe for years. We always knew we would have our own business in coffee, we just didn’t know how exactly it would fall into place. There were so many signs pointing us in this direction, we even had coffee from the same trailer we have now, five years ago when it was owned by Nature’s Brew.

We are soul sisters who met while dating brothers in a small town called Omak, Washington. Since the beginning, we have been a powerful manifesting duo. We create a perfect balance together which works great for a business partnership.

We are both business oriented and have an entrepreneurial mindset. With the experience we’ve collected over the years, we were able to put together all of our resources to buy and successfully begin the coffee truck, Niche.

We are both passionate about healing, and helping others grow into their divine potential, so this is an outlet for us to be able to connect with the community as a pillar of light.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some of the challenges have been finding reliable employees who are hardworking, and able to hold themselves together under pressure while keeping positive and inspiring energy regardless of the circumstances.

Running the truck is hard work! We work long hours, and driving a trailer takes someone who’s super confident in driving, especially in LA! Being defensive and also cautious is a must.

We’ve also come across so many obstacles revolving around the trailer, things that we’ve had to rattle our brains to figure out. In the beginning, the generator would break down, the espresso machine wouldn’t have enough pressure to pull shots, and we even had to figure out what kind of adapter we needed to connect a water hose to the trailer which was oddly more difficult than it sounds!

At one point, we literally had to rewire the entire trailer to power everything off of one generator and ONE outlet. Lol, that was a trip. We’ve had to deal with a lot of negativity and backlash from certain people near where we park the truck. We’ve had many experiences dealing with the cops being called on us, the food health inspectors and parking enforcement.

Of course, it always worked out because we had all of our ducks in a row. Our business is legitimate, so there was never anything they could really do. There’s always something that happens when running a business. Gotta stay on your toes!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Niche Cafes story. Tell us more about the business.
At Niche, our focus is on every love infused interaction. We hope that once people experience us, they are inspired to be present and choose to flow with divine light. Each beverage is handcrafted and made from carefully selected, top of the line ingredients.

Our wood-clad vessel of love brings a thoughtfully designed menu. We focus on providing a spectrum of options that will adhere to each person’s individual palate. We serve a variety of drinks ranging from health-conscious smoothies; filled with all the superfoods favorites, to decadent, self-indulging milkshakes.

Our imported Italian roast provides a perfectly euphoric caffeine experience; complimented by its seductively smooth flavor profile. We serve the highest quality ceremonial grade matcha, packed with antioxidants which creates a feeling of balanced clarity.

With our intention setting approach, we intuitively infuse each drink with a specific purpose to aid in aligning with our higher self. Every drink is made with love to send each person on their way with exactly what their spirit has been searching for.

At Niche communicating with the community in a loving and open atmosphere is what we believe in. Our mission is to connect, heal, spread joy and serve some delicious drinks while doing it!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is the perfect city to start a business. This is a place where anything is possible! Finding your Niche combined with hard work and faith in your vision is crucial for success. Particularly in LA, there’s a ton of competition, and the cost of living and business is very high.

Which is why starting a food truck was the perfect opportunity for us. We have little overhead which has given us a better opportunity for a larger profit margin. We also appreciate having a mobile cafe because we can test out different areas of the city to see what works and what doesn’t! That way when we do open a brick and mortar, we will have an idea of where we most embraced.

LA is a melting pot of all different walks of people, tourists, and locals which is why catering to all taste buds have been a part of our success. To our surprise, people thrive on supporting local businesses and trying out something new that’s not corporate. When following your divine passion with a purpose, it can all happen quicker than one may imagine!
