Meet Danny Pueblos of Pueblos Elite Performance in Anaheim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Pueblos.

Danny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ever since I was in high school, I knew I wanted to work in the field of psychology. I was the type of kid who all of my friends confided in to help with their issues. Once I found out about the field of Sport Psychology in my Psychology class at La Mirada High School, I knew that is what I wanted to do. Being that sports and helping people are my two passions in life, I couldn’t think of anything better.

Since then, I have obtained by bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from U.C. Irvine, master’s in Sport-Exercise Psychology, and am in the final stage of completing my doctorate in Sport and Performance Psychology. During my time completing my doctorate, I opened up my sports psychology consultation business and have helped clients ranging from 14 years old all the way to professional athletes. It has been a great experience since I have seen great results from my clients both in sports and in life. I always tell them that no matter how talented they are, if they are not right “up stairs”, then they can only go so far. It has been an amazing experience thus far.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Looking back, I did have my share of challenges along the way. Educational wise, I struggled with my grade a bit during my undergraduate work because I was working 40+ hours and took on a full load of classes. I did well but felt I could have done better. In regards to my business, I came in knowing absolutely nothing about the business side. Everything I know about business I have found out on my own or had some help from friends who have their own businesses. With that said, the challenges I faced help make me the person I am today. I truly believe that adversity shapes success. As Rocky Balboa once said, it’s not about how hard you it, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pueblos Elite Performance – what should we know?
I specialize in sport psychology training. The majority of my clients are athletes, coaches, and teams. However, I have helped others in different fields such as businesses, performers (music, actors, etc.), and even parents. I help my clients increase their mental strength which will help to improve their overall performance. My training has helped my clients gain better control of their thoughts and emotions, which have resulted in them achieving their goals that they create with me in the beginning. I work with a lot of athletes who are looking for ways to take their games to the next level, and this mental performance training does just that since most athletes at any level are not receiving the training they are.

I am most proud of the fact that I started this company from the ground up. I am bringing on interns and training them in what I do. I am slowly growing this business into a vision that has kept me going through all the adverse times.

What sets me apart from others in the field is that not only do I have doctorate-level training in Sports Psychology, I have been there as an athlete and coach. I tell my clients that I probably have faced similar issues than those they are discussing with me. This has helped me develop a relationship with my clients as they tend to trust those who have been there before compared to someone who just has scholastic training.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have been blessed to have a great support system throughout the years. Whether it is my parents, girlfriend, siblings, friends, or business connections, I would not be here if it wasn’t for them. It is impossible to pinpoint just one or a few people as there are so many people whom have helped me throughout the journey of developing my country. I am so thankful for all of the love and support I have received and continue to receive to this day.
