Meet Danielle Velasquez of Delicious, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Velasquez

Hi Danielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Protecting families and creating a legacy has always been at the forefront of what I do. I started my career in financial services over a decade ago, focusing on clients who were entering retirement. Through out the past 10 years, I have helped establish a retirement investment firm and from there took an opportunity in the tech space. It was while I was establishing my career in tech that I felt something was missing.

The entrepreneurial bug had bit me and I had an itch to establish a business of my own. It was also during this time that my Mom passed away and unfortunately, without life insurance. I have first hand experience living through the aftermath of not having enough financial protection and how that can affect a family.

My foray back into finance was born from this place. My family is my why and what a blessing that I get to carry the torch to protect my future family and families alike in my community. The premise of my work is simple. We provide financial education. I am not only your life insurance agent, but I work towards the goal of financial independence with you and your family, introducing clients to a number of investment tools to strengthen their financial house.

Through education and knowledge sharing, we are stronger together.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Any road worth walking upon is never smooth. Like most achievements in life, they require nurturing, time, and commitment. There are plenty of times that I can remember being overwhelmed or uncertain as to why things were playing out the way they were, but in retrospect, life plays out the way God intends. While it may not make sense initially, redirection occurs with purpose in our lives. Without redirection, I would not have taken the leap into entrepreneurship and back to my passion of protecting families. There were so many times that I felt that doors were closing or I was not being heard, I just had to take a moment and listen to the universe– listen to my gut. Those were signs to pivot and pivot I did.

We’ve been impressed with Delicious, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have two business that I own. My why behind both business is my family’s legacy.

In 2022, I launched Deeelicious Scents, a candle company inspired by my Mom. I create customized hand-made candles for my clients. The full collection can be viewed on www.deeeliciousscents.com.

In 2023, I attained my life insurance license to help protect families and ensure they have proper financial coverage. I have experienced not having proper coverage with the loss of my Mother and I feel compelled to spread education about the benefits of life insurance for families to retain their life style, generate wealth, and grow their financial house. As a Latina, it is my purpose to ensure proper knowledge is disseminated back to our community and an even playing field is accessible to all.

In addition, I am expanding my business and currently hiring agents to coach them how to start their own business. My agency provides mentorship, curriculum, and licensing. Agents can work part-time or full-time. Becoming a business Owner is a major step towards financial independence. Message me on Instagram or email me at deeeliciousbrands@gmail.com for more information.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The Covid-19 crisis was a turning point for many. In terms of entrepreneurship, it solidified that people should not rely on one source of income for their households. Thousands were affected by the pandemic and many lost their one source of income or household breadwinner in the process. Ensure that your household is properly protected in the event that something were to happen to you. Will all of your dependents be protected? Will your business survive? Will a legacy be left? The second lesson is to hedge against only having one income source. Do you have other sources of income to generate passive income? Do you have other money sources in play in the event your main income stream depreciates?
