Meet Danielle Clarke-Fisher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Clarke-Fisher.

Danielle Clarke-Fisher

Hi Danielle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve loved to have a little giggle since birth. I knew I wanted to be a comedian when my friends and I would laugh so hard in school we’d pee our pants and get in trouble for peeing all the time.

I started performing improv in my teens and continued through college. I fell in love with comedy and more importantly the community that being funny together builds. And when I moved to Brooklyn, some very kind, generous, and talented comedians took me under their wing and encouraged me to try stand-up. I’ve been chugging along ever since, and it’s a wonderful ride.

I attribute all the wonderful people, places, and things I’ve gotten to experience in comedy to the incredible community here in New York and everywhere. There’s a really loving and supportive network of creative people who put their talents together to make amazing work, and it brings me so much joy to be able to create funny things with them.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the hardest things to navigate on this journey has been realizing that almost all of the challenges I’ve had were internal. It can be easy to talk yourself out of good things because you’re in your head about the how and why. But that really is part of the fun! Comedy is like exposure therapy in a way, and I have so many opportunities to do things outside of my comfort zone.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a stand-up comedian and improviser in NYC known for being a little sweetie. 🙂

Of all the projects I have the pleasure of working on, I’m most proud of the things I get to create with wonderful friends. I have a special love for Attack Mode Deluxe, a comedy collective/Gundam made up of four gorgeous talented women, one good man, and me – so five gorgeous talented women. It’s such a thrill to perform together, and we’re so excited for our next live show on April 2nd at Littlefield in Brooklyn, NY.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see many good things ahead in comedy! There are so many bright stars rising and entering in the scene, and they’re bring their own unique style and perspective and talents. It’s so exciting to watch the landscape change over time.

There is a lot of attention in comedy and media on AI tech and how that affects creative fields. I think there’s validity to the cons, but I also think creative people know how to be creative and are already learning how to integrate AI to make incredible things.
