Meet Daniela Serra of BLNCD Naturals in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Serra.She and her team share her story with us below.

Please kick things off for us with some background on Daniela’s story.
Daniela has been a certified esthetician for more than 15 years, specializing in clean/non-toxic and effective beauty products. At BLNCD Naturals, she serves as the head of product development, with a focus on formulating the brand’s beauty lines.

After training under renowned clean beauty chemists and industry innovators in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Daniela sought to create her own line of products. She began experimenting with CBD formulas around the same time her mother was diagnosed with cancer after seeing its tremendous benefits for pain relief, anxiety and inflammation.

Daniela splits her time between Los Angeles and Minneapolis (where BLNCD is manufactured), also working as a professional makeup artist for TV & fashion editorial, as well as an educational specialist/consultant on clean ingredients/formulation for leaders in the green beauty industry.

Has it been a smooth road?
I have experience working for multiple beauty start-ups and small companies and there are always bumps in the road. Anything from R&D issues to packaging, sourcing, and marketing, in addition to being a small fish in the gigantic pond of emerging indie beauty and CBD brands.

Although I’m happy to say that we are getting there. I think that if you can really stand behind your brand 100 percent by not only being transparent but by truly using the highest quality and effective ingredients, you can’t go wrong.

I find that there are far too many brands on the market exploding that are all delivering a B.S. marketing campaign or relying on having a celebrity name behind it. To me, if what you are putting in that bottle isn’t interesting, effective & non-toxic, no amount of packaging BLING or celebrity backing is enough. We are doing more than just producing products and sprinkling a little CBD on top. Our products are potent and result-driven. I think consumers, in general, are more aware of their toxic load and doing their homework on what’s real and what works so we want to make sure we are delivering that in our products.

BLNCD (Balanced) Naturals was founded by three women, established business leaders who are committed to creating luxury beauty & wellness products while consistently researching the safest, highest quality, & most effective ingredients. Our products are formulated with responsibly farmed US-grown hemp and organic, wildcrafted clean ingredients. BLNCD’s mission is to be a source of education, uncompromising standards, and complete transparency in the CBD, beauty and wellness industry.

As head of product development, I specialize in researching and sourcing the very best and most effective ingredients to create the most unique formulations possible. I try to see what the market is missing and needs. Being that the industry of indie beauty, wellness and CBD is beyond competitive, I try to focus on what we can do to make our formulations exceed expectations. What drives us is seeing results and hearing success stories on how our product is helping people. I want to know that our products are actually working. I want customer feedback and will constantly work to assure that we are doing the very best that we can to produce safe, quality, and highly effective products.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
As a business founder, I have been ultimately inspired by living on the West Coast. Los Angeles has an infectious energy about it. It’s a city full of creatives and dreamers that actually have so many opportunities to network and make those dreams come true. Everyone is doing something interesting and different and I am so inspired by the energy that California in general gives to me. I don’t think LA is for everyone but I do believe that you can do anything you want here if you are determined.

With all that the West Coast has brought me, I am able to take that knowledge and inspiration back to manufacturing in Minneapolis, MN where I grew up to inspire others and create amazing products! BLNCD Naturals is currently sold online and we hope to have a Brick and Mortar soon!

Although I love Minneapolis, it is in California that I call home and feel the most at peace. It definitely has my heart.
