Meet Colin Lang

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colin Lang.

Colin Lang

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Majority of my youth was dedicated to competing in Mogul Skiing and was fortunate enough to compete at the World Cup level. After retiring, my yearning for performing was far from over. I was on a quest to find my new passion and after getting a taste of different corporate career paths, the desk job just wasn’t going to cut it for me. Throughout most of my childhood, I was a shy kid and always looked up to the people that could entertain and hold the attention of others, and I wanted to be that guy. So, when I was home during the pandemic, I was practicing a speech for the Toastmasters club I was attending at the time and my mom told me I should try an acting class, it might help make your speech more entertaining and so I did. It was the most nerve-racking and exhilarating experience I had in a long time, and that’s when I found my new love and passion.

It’s been almost 2 and 1/2 years since I moved out to Los Angeles to pursue acting. It’s been a tough journey, but that’s also the part that makes it fun, if it’s wasn’t challenging, why do it? I like finding the pleasure in pursuing something difficult, after all it wouldn’t be worth it in the end if it was easy.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been as smooth as the streets in LA, if you’re not paying attention those potholes will creep up on you and give you a rude awakening.

As far as acting goes, it’s a rollercoaster to say the least. Audition after audition sent into the abyss to only be left on read, but that’s part of the game you’ve got to learn to play and throughout my experience being here, I’ve learned to develop thick skin and keep on moving forward.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an actor and I work as a personal trainer on the side.

My speciality is playing the villain; that’s my usual casting

I’ve played Roman Polanski in the Short Film: The Manson Sisters

When I’m not playing a character, most people won’t think of me as the villain because I’m always smiling, laughing and having a good time, but when it’s game time, that’s when the poker face comes on.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like how this city is full of creatives and artists and that you can wear whatever you want, and people don’t look at you funny cause that’s normal here.

What I like least about this city: traffic, flakiness of people, and people tending to be fake, nice
