Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Marie
Hi Christine , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I knew I was destined for something great. At just five years old, I had the honor of meeting fashion icon Karl Kani, who told my dad, “This kid is going to be a superstar.” By the time I was seven, Karl Kani put me in my first photo shoot with India Love, and in that moment, I knew—this was what I was meant to do.
At nine years old, a wrong turn in Downtown LA changed my perspective forever. My dad accidentally drove through Skid Row, and what I saw there deeply moved me. I knew I had to help. From that moment on, I asked my parents to take me there on weekends, using my own money to buy food and connect with the people living on the streets. That experience inspired my first single, “Down Here” featuring Sabri Killings, and at just nine, I fell in love with recording music.
By the time I was ten, I was performing all over and catching the attention of major record labels, ready to take my career to the next level. But then, my world stopped—my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I went through so many emotions, feeling like I was about to lose the most important person in my life. I even wanted to quit music. But my mom, through all her pain and surgeries, told me that seeing me on stage made her the happiest mom in the world. Her strength became my inspiration.
On August 13, 2024, for my mom’s birthday, I gave her a gift straight from my heart—a song called “Pink Ribbon in the Sky,” available on all platforms. Thanks to my manager Sylvia Hernandez and DJ Tye Hollywood, I had the honor of performing it live for her at Mario Lopez’s event at Universal CityWalk. My mom has one more surgery coming up in March, and with God’s grace, she’s expected to make a full recovery. To everyone reading this—please get routine breast exams. Early detection saved my mom’s life.
Right now, I’m fully focused on my music. I’m almost finished with my album, “Tubi: The Mixtape Movie,” featuring a mix of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Spanish tracks with some exciting collaborations. I’m also gearing up for a performance in Dubai and a few upcoming movie and TV appearances. I’m beyond grateful for the people who have supported me on this journey—my mom and dad, Karl Kani, LisaRaye and Thorsten D Meier of KICKit World.
My friend Kaido Roberts (who featured me on his single “Slide”), and my incredible team: Kay, Everly, Gideon Moore, Sanchez (my producer), and Heavenly Huges of My Tribe Rise—a nonprofit I work closely with.
This is just the beginning. Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The hardest part of this business is figuring out who’s real. Some people are only in it for clout and don’t actually care about others. Then there’s the jealousy, fake love, and empty promises—people who say one thing but never follow through. My dad always told me, “Don’t believe everything you hear—it’s just Hollywood talk.” I’ve learned to pay attention to actions, not words. All I ask is for people to be real and honest.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about My Name Christine Marie is my Brand but I have other companies, Young Wax Candles , I have a mattress line I’m launching soon called Cloud Heaven as well as a clothing line ?
Yes, I’m only 12, but the resources I have are incredible. I have direct access to some of the most successful and experienced people in my industries, giving me expert advice to ensure I create the best products possible.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I love reading, especially about history and ancient Egypt. In my free time, I enjoy playing Fortnite and watching music production tutorials to keep learning and improving my skills.
