Meet Christina Ziccardi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Ziccardi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Christina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got into dance at around the age of four years old. I studied all different dance styles but as an adult I specialized in belly dance, Latin, jazz, and hip hop. Dance had completely altered my existence and how I perceived myself and the world. And once I started teaching dance I loved to see people light up when they are in their groove. Or how someone might be a bit of a wallflower come to life during the end of a dance workshop.

After having my son I wanted to get back to teaching dance but wanted to do it as a large scale where I could still spend time with him. That is how Christinaziccardi.com was created…I could reach a larger audience and do it from my home or traveling.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. The largest hurdle was creating content in a timely manner without having a Nanny.

Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
I created this business for women with an emphasis for moms. It can be challenging to exercise and take care of yourself once you have kids. You fall into this role of constant caregiver. One morning I was doing my typical choreographing while my son (Andrew) was watching Sesame Street. I thought, why not record my dance as instructional videos. You can go at your own pace as well as rewind to really get a move down. What sets me apart is the fact that I have been dancing for most of my life. I also just want people to have fun. If someone can take some kind of joy from my site or nutrition consulting then it has been all worthwhile.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see that there has already been a large shift in most people interacting online. I do pilates class through a website sometimes instead of the gym. So I can only imagine what the future will bring for online dance/fitness.
