Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian.
Hi Christian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The Brand of Havana Roasters Coffee started in 2017. As the first national brand of Cuban gourmet style coffee – bringing back the roasting technique of the Cuban Roast.

The product was distributed nationwide in supermarkets, military bases (Army Air Force Exchange) and grocery stores.
We developed our proprietary roasting formulas in Miami, FL and we expanded to Los Angeles to open our hospitality division; which includes launching the retail operations of our Havana Roasters Coffee Flagship store in Franklin Village in Hollywood. Cuban bakeries and sandwich bars – through our hospitality division. and opening our FIRST Flagship store – in Franklin Village.
The store has also been supported by the opening of our Cuban Coffee Truck! Available all over at LA.
The truck will also be launching Coffee Shop Parties! We will hosting multiple events all over LA to get the ball rolling! This is going to bring our special Cuban Style vibe to new communities that who are looking for alternatives to alcohol. This new trend nationwide has built the popularity of Coffee Shop Parties – with DJS, coffee and Food – Latin music, and mambo dance! Mambo Dance Music.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am not sure what would be considered a smooth road, some of our challenges have been the lengthy permitting process, so that’s always a bump in the road that you have to overcome.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others? I have specialized in vegan cuisine in Miami, which is where I met my business partner who I refer to as, “The Man Behind the Bean”. He is of Cuban descent, and he has been my culinary guide as we crafted the menu. We wanted to remain true to tradition while adding non-traditional elements, for example, we created the ropa vieja sandwich. Ropa Vieja is a traditional dish, but it is nearly always accompanied with rice and beans, so we took a different approach and made it a sandwich that we were happy presenting to the loyalists because the flavor can overcome the change of how the dish is presented. Also, I am proud of the fact that we created a legitimate plant-based option with our Pastelitos, which are traditional Cuban puff-pastries. The dough is plant-based, we use all natural fruit filings and dairy-free cheese for the cheese based versions, ex. Guava and cheese. We also are taking a spin from the traditional flavors and creating Pina Colada, blueberry, dulce de leche, apple and other varieties that will expand the idea while paying homage to the traditional varieties such as Guava and Guava with Cheese. What sets us apart from others is our fanatical dedication to flavor. We aim to elicit that memory from the inner reaches of the brain of those memorable food moments and our dedication to high quality ingredients while providing a value for the customer is something that delights us daily. There is nothing better than seeing and hearing the responses from customers that love the total experience, #fortheloveofflavors.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Observation and engagement are characteristics that are vital to one’s success because they involve the customer and improve the customer experience.
Pricing:
- Our menu is affordable, first and foremost. The quality of the food is extraordinary and we wanted people to be able to afford a meal in light of the current economic landscape and outlook. Our goal was to make it possible for someone to spend less than $20 and still have a satisfying and enriching meal. Our pastelitos are priced very competitively at $2 and we were one of the first coffee companies to initiate flat-rate pricing that includes the customer’s choice of milk and sweetner. So you will not order a small for $4 and then pay $7 because you wanted oat milk or caramel syrup. It’s simple and we like making things simpler for our customers.
