Meet Charlotte Hale of Plum Pretty Sugar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlotte Hale.

Charlotte founded Plum Pretty Sugar in 2009 and PPS Couture in 2015 taking inspiration from a West Coast style and a background of easy-living chic. Both brands are instantly recognizable and bring confident, kind and modern women together through apparel and inspiration for every day and milestone moments.

Reflecting on her affinity for beautiful things, Charlotte remembers fondly her childhood home, decorated in a mix of blue-and-pink chintz fabrics. She also studies ballet for many years which she says instilled a sense of gracefulness and a feminine aesthetic that remains with her today.

“I really tried to create a brand that brings forward a breezy happiness and a feminine lifestyle in a kind way,” she explains.

“Plum Pretty Sugar was a process that lived inside me for a long time. It didn’t happen overnight.”

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe in working hard and… working smart. With a background in consumer marketing for large fortune brands and advance degrees in business and communication, the road hasn’t always been easy. I believe it is how the bumps are handled and how the challenges are faced that push both myself and my business forward. In fact, it is the challenges that really propel me.

There are struggles everyday… some are small and others are huge. I try to always find the right tool… and I keep looking!

Plum Pretty Sugar – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Plum Pretty Sugar is an apparel business with beginnings and strong ties to both the wedding and sleepwear industries.

Plum Pretty Sugar created the “getting ready” and bridesmaid robe category within the wedding industry and is the industry and category leader.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There are so many moments. I think the success in general and the longevity… it’s been eight years!
