Today we’d like to introduce you to Chandan Biswal.

Hi Chandan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

Thank you for having me. I’m Chandan Biswal, a 19-year-old cinematographer, editor, and photographer from Cuttack, Odisha. I started creating cinematic content about a year ago, and since then I’ve grown my social media presence to over 2000 followers. My journey began in esports as a BGMI gamer, but over time, I found my true passion in filmmaking and visual storytelling. @ruhanlens ( stories through the lens )

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey hasn’t been easy. I come from a single-parent family, raised by my mother, and I’m her only child. We’ve faced financial struggles, and I’ve had to work with limited resources — including a mid-range phone with no additional equipment. On top of that, I’ve had no external support or guidance. Life threw many setbacks at me, but I never stopped trying. I believe in showing my reality, staying original, and putting my heart into every frame I capture.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create cinematic videos, short films, and photography content. I handle everything — from shooting to editing. What sets me apart is my authenticity. I don’t try to imitate others or show a fake lifestyle. My goal is to inspire and teach through my work. I want every viewer to take something meaningful from my content. My past in gaming taught me focus, but my shift to filmmaking gave me purpose.

Any big plans?

Right now, my biggest focus is staying consistent and improving the quality of my content. I want to continue sharing impactful videos and telling stories that resonate with people. In the near future, I plan to invest in better equipment like a PC for editing, so I can further enhance the production value of my films. I have big dreams — and I’m working every day to turn them into reality.
