Meet Chad Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Brown.

Chad Brown

Hi Chad, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a leap-year baby! Born February 29, 1980 to a Pastor and 1st Lady… I got my start in church. I started singing at the age of three, playing drums at the age of 4, and preaching at the age of eight. I’m what you would call a child prodigy.

I began my actual music career at age 12, playing drums for a group called Unity. We thought we were Commissioned 2.0. Lol! From there, I joined a singing group at age 17 called Yielded Vessels. We went on to travel the nation singing. My older brother introduced me to songwriting when I was 16 and I’ve been writing songs ever since.

I’m born and raised in New Orleans. LA. After going through and losing everything in Hurricane Katrina, God called me into full-time ministry. I have traveled the length and breadth of this nation, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was blessed in 2p19 to succeed my father-in-law in ministry to become the Sr. Pastor of Abounding Grace Ministries. We are a thriving church in the city of Altadena, CA.

I’m married to the beautiful, Melissa Browm and together we share seven children. We have a wonderfully blended family and for the past 14 years, she has been by my side, supporting everything that I do.

During the pandemic, while being shut down for 15 months, I decided to pivot and transform our sanctuary into a full-fledged music recording and television production studio. From that pivot, Twenty6 Throty3 Studios was born. Now we are quickly becoming a sought-after production house that focuses heavily on Gospel and Inspirational projects. We recently partnered with ShienTV to produce our first TV show called “Sacred Desk”. It is a music-based TV show that promotes and exposes the great Gospel talent that’s out there. Season 1, episode one is to air on November 22, 2023.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My life has been everything but a smooth ride. I lost my mom to cancer at the age of 11. That alone produced issues and challenges that I would not discover until manhood. I lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. I’ve experienced divorce. I have seven amazing children. Of course, that’s a challenge for any parent.

I’ve experienced being lied to in an attempt to stop me from being successful. I’ve dealt with my own share of insecurities. Being born into a prominent church family with a father who Pastored a major church in New Orleans was its own set of issues. When people know that you were born to do great things, it creates realistic expectations and unfair pressure. You began trying to live up to other people’s idea of who you should be. On top of that, I spent many of my first years in preaching ministry, living in my father’s shadow.

I remember at 25 years old, going out to preach and because I wasn’t really known, the host Pastors would give all of these accolades about my father and then say, “Well his son is here with us today….!” LOL. Needless to say, it took a while to find my own identity.

The current challenges that exist now are really just making sure that I don’t let God, my family, and the people who follow me down.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a songwriter, drummer, singer, producer, and entrepreneur. I have one album and five singles out everywhere music is sold online.

What sets me apart from others I believe is the multiplicity of gifts that I possess. Not many people can do all of the various things I do. I think I’m most proud of my first album, “Made for More.” This is close to my heart because it’s my first. And it was wonderfully written and produced by me and award-winning producer, “Christian Davis.”

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was actually quiet as a kid. After losing my mom at 11. I started to come out of my shell. I ended up realizing that I had a natural knack for making people laugh. I’m quite funny. I loved singing and playing the drums. It was my favorite pastime. In high school, I had the senior superlative of “Most Talented”, given to me by peers.
