Meet Cameron Nino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Nino.

In every generation there are voices that define the period. Cameron Nino is emerging as one of the mouthpieces of Gen Z. His body of work to date has established him as a music visionary, who has successfully applied his musical wisdom to craft soundscapes that convey his beliefs and ideals through a set of articulately synchronized lyrical wordplay, carefully woven around robust and addictive beats. Nino is a world class producer who is beginning to influence the arc of how music genres are defined. His music bridges generations and blends genres.

Amongst his beliefs is the continuation of the idea that is embodied in the Declaration of Independence that environmental & social justice are the guaranteed entitlement for all people and that the abuse of power by any agency should be met with severe consequences. His most recent collaboration with singer-songwriter Trinity Rose echoes this belief with powerful, thought-provoking lyrics over a musically stimulating fabric. As a musician, Nino plays the Cello and Electric Guitar. He is a member of the Malibu High School Orchestra. Some of the venues that he has performed at include public venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City with his high school orchestra, The El Rey Theater & The Roxy in Los Angeles, several food & family festivals and more.

Music:

Nino started writing in 2011, when he penned his first song – “Back in the Day”. The song referenced a melody line from “Crazy Frog”, expanding it into a call-to-action that exhorted: “Don’t Live Black, Live Green”, a statement asking people not to use fossil fuel but to adopt Green Tech. In 2015, Cameron Nino was invited by Club 42 to produce a medley for the organization using music by The Beatles and Michael Jackson. The EP was to be titled “All My People – A Tribute to The Beatles and Michael Jackson.” He has since them released three other singles – “On The Floor” (2016), “Gravity” (2018) and “Ice Cream” (2018). All three singles were included on the first-round ballot for the Grammys. In 2020, Cameron released his first solo body of work, an EP titled “OUT”.

Live Events:

Cameron Nino’s performance credits includes annual appearances at the International Food Festival and Carnival – a charity event that raises funds to assist the homeless, the Awareness Film Festival, The Pig ‘N Whistle, Molly Malone’s, Flagstaff Hill in Pittsburgh, The El Rey Theater, San Clemente Music Festival, Encino Family Festival and The Roxy. Their repertoire of music includes re-arrangements of popular songs such as Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train”, The Beatles “Come Together” and his original songs. He usually performs with his band – Seventh Nova.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Without a mentor in the industry, it has been very difficult breaking in. So many people are out there waiting to take advantage of young artists and offering opportunities that never materialize. So, I have chosen to focus on making great music, entertaining people whenever I can, and let my work speak for itself.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I write, produce and perform all my music. This makes me very proud as I do not have to depend on another producer or writing to create for me. It is also very rewarding when people love the product of my work.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My parents, especially my mother have been my anchors through this journey. Their support and commitment has been inspirational and motivates me. The feedback that I have received from people who have heard my music drives me to create more for them.
