Meet Britton Bentley

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Britton Bentley. Britton was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Jet G.

Britton, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. As soon as my older brother got his driver’s license we started taking day trips to L.A. to go to concerts, museums, the Hundreds store on Rosewood, and to explore the city on our skateboards. Inspired by the seemingly boundless creativity all around me in L.A., I dreamed of becoming an artist. I graduated from USC with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Law, and decided to forego law school and stay true to that childhood dream of throwing myself into the art game. After a lot of trial and error as a musician playing in different bands, I’ve found my niche as a very eccentric and ever-adapting screenwriter/producer/musician/actor focusing on material that my friends describe as New Americana.

Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
I had the opportunity to write the upcoming horror film The Iron Door starring Brock O’Hurn and Casey Deidrick. And I have another film in pre-production that I co-wrote with Jet G. We will also be starring in the film as we take our acting careers to the next level. I can’t say too much about the film at the moment but it is truly turning into something special. I’m also working on new music and I’m still gigging around in the indie/alternative rock underground scene on the regular. Recently I played rhythm guitar with new artist Jone Jones. I played a gig at Junior High L.A. with Jet G in January. I will be releasing new music of my own in 2024.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Jet G and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Jet.
The first thing I noticed about Jet when I met him in September 2022 that made me excited to collaborate with him was his vision. I asked him what he wanted to do in the art game. He was very blunt. He wanted to do it all. Act, write, produce, perform, do music. And he backed it up by showing me a dope web series that he wrote, produced, and acted in called Wallace and Tex that you can find on YouTube. I could tell that he was serious about unlocking his potential as a multi-hyphenate artist. And when I asked him to jam out and write some music, we came up with a banger in about 20 minutes. At that time I could sense I was approaching a turning point in my ambitions, and this dude was exactly the kind of artist I wanted to be around and work with. Fast forward a little over a year and we have a feature film that we co-wrote in pre-production with some insanely talented producers/directors/talent attached. Perhaps the most impressive thing I’ll take away from my time working with Jet is his attention to detail. He’s constantly raising the bar and setting the standard of excellence with each part of the process.
