Meet Brianna Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Martinez. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Brianna Martinez

Brianna Martinez, a New York native, came to Los Angeles alone to pursue her dreams in the media industry. With only $5,000 saved and no apartment in store, I took that risk and made a way. I am a woman of many talents. I am an artist, a content creator, an actress, and many more. I know that I was placed on this earth to do more than one thing in life. Growing up as an only child, My best friends were an art kit, a CD player, and food. I’ve always been passionate about the arts, but throughout the years I felt stuck, not knowing what to pursue first. I know that I am a multifaceted person who is free spirited and creative; therefore, I chose to study a major that was extensive. I graduated from the University at Albany, SUNY, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies and a minor in theater.

After I graduated college in 2019, a good friend of mine said to me, “You should start a blog”. At first, I didn’t know what the blog would be about, but I knew that I enjoyed exploring, creating, and eating. Many people would describe me as a straightforward person, so why not create a food blog with honest reviews? As of today, that food blog is called Brianna’s Cravings. After two years without a job in the media industry, I no longer had an interest in working at Shake Shack or Chick Fil A. By August 2020, I decided to leave that job at Chick-fil-A to expand my content creation page into a small business. As of today, I sell mixed alcoholic drinks like margaritas, hard lemonades, and food. Brianna’s Cravings has about 3,500+ followers. Brianna’s Cravings got to where it is today through consistency, asking questions, engaging with the foodie community, and never giving up. I learned that if you want people to view your music, food, or business, you must promote yourself. You must put yourself out there because no one will go as hard as you do. There is always someone watching. I learned that it’s okay to take a break. Creating, editing, marketing, and engaging can get overwhelming; therefore, I have taken small breaks when they were needed. This helped get my creative juices flowing.

Aside from content creation, I also do work at Paramount Pictures. I’ve done audience coordination for the Dr. Phil Show and the Legendary Show, starring Law Roach and KeKe Palmer. Recently, I assisted with Paramount’s community day. 19 organizations from California appeared, including Baby2Baby, Brotherhood Crusade, PATH, and AVIVA. Over 1,400 employees volunteered to help save the day. To get to where I am today in the media industry, it took a lot of time, consistency, and a vision board. You must not give up; just keep going! Remember that everyone has a different path in life; Do not compare; just trust the process!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

It hasn’t been a smooth road. Before working in the media, I questioned my life because things didn’t go as planned right away. Some obstacles included self-doubt, procrastination, overthinking, and anxiety. A lot of people had something to say. I was put down because I was 23–26 years old without a career. So many people compared their lives to mine, and because of that, there were times I felt like I was behind in life, but I wasn’t. Everything happened the way it should have. I think it is extremely important to mind our business and let people live because you never know what someone is going through. I’m a firm believer that you must work in a place where you are content. Money is great, but it’s extremely draining to work in a place where you’re not happy. This is one of the reasons why I decided to expand my food blog into a small business: it allowed me to do what I enjoyed. I did what was best for me and not what others wanted because it is my life.

As of today, It’s been difficult to create a chosen family in Los Angeles. If you are moving to another state or country by yourself, understand that you are not a lone wolf. Starting a life all over in Los Angeles has been a challenge. I’m looking for fewer surface-level friendships and more deep connections. It can get lonely sometimes, but I keep myself occupied by taking myself out on solo dates, attending museums, and going to the beach. Being an ambivert could be another obstacle because I’m very selective about who I let in and who I socialize with. It’s very difficult for me to connect with people in large groups. This world forces us to be so extroverted. If you are an introvert or ambivert, please don’t try to change yourself to fit in; the right people will come. There are challenges that I am still overcoming, but I am so blessed and grateful to not be in the same place mentally and emotionally as I was a few years ago.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I am known for sharing the hottest restaurants in NYC and LA. I specialize in creating quality content by presenting recipes and honest reviews. I incorporate cool voiceovers, dance moves, and fun all around. My clients favorite dishes are Birria tacos, Mac and cheese, and Rasta Pasta made by me.

I am so proud of how far I’ve come. From 1 follower to 3,500 followers and many more to come, I’m excited to see what’s to come in the future. I am very proud that I pursued working in the media industry and my passion for creating at the same time.

It’s been a lot to juggle, but it’s amazing to see the outcome so far. The fact that I worked in the food industry for many years makes sense to me now. I used to question my life, and now I can see that my past has definitely prepared me for my future.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?

In the next 5–10 years, You will notice more growth within myself in terms of content creation, business, acting, and more. Everything that I desire will come true. I’m just living and letting things be; I’m learning to not control things and let them flow. All I can do is continue to do the best that I can, and everything will fall into place. Take that risk that you are afraid of, trust me it will all work out.
