Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Torres.
Hi Brian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
As cheesy as it sounds, it all started when I was a little kid with a God-given dream. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved watching movies, making silly videos, play the guitar, & play basketball with friends. These things were just a hobby and a getaway for me. To this day, I would say that I still have goals and dreams that are yet to be met and that I am still on the grind. Slowly but surely, I’ve made progress over the years and am proud with some of the accomplishments I have made.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t easy since I pretty much started from scratch. My family wanted me to prioritize my academics first before anything, which is definitely what I did until later on, towards the end of my high school/early college career, I wanted to pursue acting in Film & TV. So, I did what I could. I made my own short films, submitted myself to every single casting website I could find, tried to find any opportunity to be on set, made friends who are like-minded, & everything pretty much domino effected from there.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I can say for living I work in Film/TV production; I am a Filipino American actor, content creator, and aspiring director & I also like to play basketball, box/kickbox, play guitar, go on spontaneous adventures with friends/family, & most importantly spend time with God. I am proud to say that I’ve worked on some cool projects, met some cool people, improved on myself as a human being and a creative along the way.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
To be quite honest with you, I don’t really trust or believe in luck. I believe in God’s timing.
