Meet Bianca Bonciu of Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Bonciu

Bianca, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

My journey began in a small town in Romania, where I first fell in love with the magic of movies.
As a child, I was captivated by the way films could make me laugh, cry, and feel invincible — often all at once. That emotional impact stayed with me and sparked a desire to create that same kind of magic for others. That’s when I caught the acting bug.

Driven by that passion, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. I studied under the incredible Amy Lyndon and trained in improv at the legendary Second City Hollywood. These experiences not only sharpened my craft but also deepened my love for storytelling.

Soon after, I began auditioning and was fortunate to land a national commercial for Big Lots, which allowed me to join SAG-AFTRA. From there, I continued honing my skills through acting classes, workshops, and, most importantly, through working with inspiring creatives who helped shape my path. One of the things I love most about LA is the diversity — you meet people from all over the world, and every encounter offers a new perspective. I truly believe you can learn something valuable from everyone you meet.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on various films and TV shows, including John from CincinnatiDon’t Look UpScrubsHouse24, and Teachers. Each project has been a learning experience and a step forward in my journey.

In 2016, I took on a new challenge — producing, directing, and starring in my own short film, The Florist. It was an incredible experience, and I was honored when it was nominated for Best Drama Short at the Burbank International Film Festival.

Right now, I’m working on a comedy film that I’m incredibly excited about, with more projects on the horizon.

At the heart of everything I do is one simple mission: to help people forget their troubles, even if just for a moment, and to inspire them to let their light shine. Because storytelling — when done right — has the power to heal, to connect, and to transform.

Has it been a smooth road? What challenges have you faced along the way?

Following your dreams is rarely a smooth ride — but it’s absolutely worth it.

Along my journey, I’ve faced my share of dark times. I’ve dealt with health challenges, financial struggles, and heartbreak. There were moments when it felt like everything was falling apart. But what carried me through was my sense of humor and an almost stubborn optimism.

In every setback, I try to find the lesson. I always ask myself: What is this here to teach me? That mindset has helped me grow, adapt, and keep moving forward, even when things felt impossible.

I truly believe every challenge we face has something valuable to offer us — and I’m grateful for the hard times because they’ve made me stronger, more resilient, and more grounded in who I am.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I’m an actress, and my work spans film, television, and voiceover. One of my specialties is voice acting in Romanian, and I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to a number of exciting projects. Some highlights include working on productions like The Expendables 3Captain America: Civil WarMacGyverWhiskey CavalierImpulseFUBAR, and The Nun 2. Alongside voice work, I also act on screen and continue to explore new ways to bring stories to life.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?

“One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my career is to always try one more time. This industry, like life, is full of challenges and setbacks. There were moments when things didn’t go the way I hoped, and it would have been easy to stop. But every mistake or rejection became a chance to learn, to adjust, and to come back stronger. I believe growth comes from those moments where you choose persistence over discouragement. If you keep pushing, keep improving, and keep showing up, opportunities eventually come your way. So my philosophy is simple: never, ever, ever give up. Sometimes the difference between success and failure is just giving it one more try.”
