Meet Benjamin Soleimani of Mansour Fine Rugs in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Soleimani.

Benjamin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m the 3rd-generation owner of Mansour. I grew up in London, where my father and I established Mansour in 1984, its second iteration from its original founding in Iran by my father 30 years prior. From the very beginning, we set ourselves apart from our peers in the industry by deeply committing to quality, beauty, and world-class service. We earned a valuable reputation which allowed us to grow internationally, and eventually earned us a Royal Warrant. When we opened our US showroom in 1993 we kept our company values paramount, and the response was positive. Since, we’ve expanded and opened a second arm of the company, Mansour Modern. We’ve established ourselves with the best designers in our industry and maintain our international reputation, with our flagship on Melrose Ave. I am the Executive Partner of Mansour and Mansour Modern.

Please tell us about Mansour Fine Rugs.
We are known for being the destination for the best rugs of any kind, from valuable, rare antiques, to contemporary creations. For those interested in antiques, we have thousands of rugs in inventory that are in amazing condition, have a story to tell, and stand the test of time in both quality and aesthetic. For those interested in more contemporary offerings, we have a great collection of Moroccan tribal rugs that are of the moment, as well as a range of modern designs including some made in collaboration with our design industry’s A-List. We experiment with materials that are hard to come by, like super-plush cashmere and long mohair. We have an impeccable reproduction program, so we can remake antique rugs to a T, as well as a bespoke program to allow designers to custom create any rug design under the sun. We are proud of our antiques and modern craftsmanship. What sets us apart is the breadth of our offerings, each in a consistently high quality.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We are in the process of creating a more streamlined shopping experience to our clients, where pricing and availability is more transparent and purchasing in-stock rugs is available online. It’s important to stay up to date with technology, this is something you learn along the way since current day technology evolves so quickly.
