Meet AlexiusVictoria Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to AlexiusVictoria Thomas.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am a music producer and open format DJ straight out of the Tristate. With my innovation and love for timeless music I have made my passion my career. With years of experience, I have only played professionally for a year. Quickly making a name for myself as a serious contender in the DJ culture not only on the dance floor but the audience and energy I am bring. I am hoping to create something everlasting and beyond my years. Every set being unique in every way. I love creating the vibes and just being able to be present and connect with the crowd. My delivery has been described in many ways, my favorite being versatile. I like to combine hip hop, top 40 mainstream, jazz, rhythm and blues with hints of Caribbean, European and Asian influence.

My journey started while I was in college finishing my degree for Accounting. I wanted to make my family happy and secure by graduating with a degree so I had something to fall back on. Always have a plan B. I think that has definitely been a big factor in my life, The stability and security of knowing I am not just good at one thing, but many that ultimately make up me. After numerous hours of online research and studying. I finally took the plunge and got a DDJ-SR 2 and mixed every moment I could. Soundcloud is my trial area, blending and mix records, having fun and trying new things. In 2018 I booked a one way ticket from NYC to LA and I have been here every since.

Some of my career highlights have been being ranked via DJANETOP.COM, headlining in Oklahoma City Pride with over 70,000 people in 2019, as well as NYC World Pride 2019. I’ve held residencies in Soho and Hollywood Blvd, working with numerous Marijuana, CBD corporations, Sheen Magazine and Raycon as DJ and ambassador. My first year has been incredible and I am reinvesting and creating the vibes all 2020

Please tell us about your art.
My art is my ever growing wardrobe and everyday is a new outfit. Some days I show up as DJ and some days I am in the studio cooking it up. I create the vibe and bring the energy. I hope that people will realize where we came from, know where we are going and see we are all on the same path. Let’s connect and have a good time. Never lose hope and know that you are whatever you believe you are and you can be whatever you put your mind to.

What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I think being an artist stereotypically there has always been a stigma. Some incredibly will off and some struggling in the community but with anything not so great, there are some great things. The community is so open and welcoming artist to artist. This is the modern renaissance and definitely the Era to find your passion and follow your purpose. I believe all communities can continue to improve our connections. Unity, community and collaboration.
