Today we’d like to introduce you to Akshat Pradhan.

Akshat Pradhan

Hi Akshat , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
LA-based New Delhi-raised artist, I started playing bass at a young age in school. This musical education path eventually led me to first Berklee, them eventually Musician’s Institute where I bloomed under the guidance of some great mentors such as George Lopez, Alexis Skljarevski, and Joseph Caputo

Combining this bass-playing advancement with formidable forays into music production and composition, I am currently active as a founding member of the bands Pakshee, 5yndik8 (pronounced Syndicate), and Lifeform; I have also accomplished sessions with artists like Prabh Deep, Rashmeet Kaur, Pt. Bhajan Sapori, Tanya Nambiar and many more.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t easy to try to fit in but still try to be unique. The way to overcome this challenge was to provide my skills and services for the broader creative world in all of its various sectors.

I’m not any different from others for trying to be skilled at just more than one thing.

But be it playing bass or producing a song for another artist, I also understand a time, place and most importantly the requirement for each skill. The one thing that I’m proud of in my journey is the experiences and development my ears have been through. I believe I’m a good listener (at least musically, haha) and over the years have learnt much better as to what the musical requirement or need in the particular situation is.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
