Today we’d like to introduce you to Unomash.
Hi Unomash, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started off Rapping as a Hobby after I got released from Jail as a Teenager. I never really took it serious until I came home and started going to the studio with the Homies who was already Rapping and making music. Once I seen how things worked behind the scenes and in the studio as far as making music goes, I was all in. No turning back after that.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a Rapper is definitely a Dangerous job especially if you’re from the streets or have a street background. I had to deal with Gang violence while trying to avoid going back to jail or getting shot. All while making music. It definitely wasn’t an easy road looking back on it. It seemed like I was going to a funeral once a month. So for me, Rapping was like an escape from all the drama in the Hood.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart from other Artists is my ability to adapt. I been making music for a while now and I’ve seen the industry switch directions multiple times over the years. I know how to adapt to current trends and new sounds because I love Rap. I just love music man. I think even when I’m an old man, I’m still going to have my hands in the game one way or another.
How do you define success?
You know I use to look at success as having a lot of money or possessions. Now that I’m older, I measure success by the relationship with the people around me. The money comes and goes, but to have those still around me who I came up and struggle with, that’s what I call being successful. That’s something money cant buy.
