Life & Work with Taylor Hudson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Hudson.

Hi Taylor, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Taylor Hudson aka TAY HDSN and I am DJ based out of Los Angeles, CA. I am originally from the Inland Empire and that is where I started my musical journey. I started DJ’ing back in 2009 and I always had an ear for music growing since a child. Music was something I never thought of getting into but was a therapeutic outlet for me to really express my voice with anything I was going through. I finally started to pursue this journey back in 2019 and haven’t stopped my passion for music.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Every journey has its ups and downs but not every journey is perfect. You start from somewhere and you always have to remember the one thing that will keep you going and that’s passion. Things will never be perfect but your continued strength and love for what you do always pushes you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in the art of mixing. I have been DJ’ing and curating music since I was 19 years old. I currently host my own Radio show on SoundCloud called ‘Influential Vibes’ and currently Resident with (2) other radio shows called ‘Sofull’ presented by Simple Wednesday and Uniforme hosted by Austin Williams.

I’m very proud of just being able to provide music and vibes to other fellow music lovers out there. Before I used to feel like I played, I felt like some crowds didn’t understand the genre of music I played but now years later I finally have found a collective of people that understand me through sound. I feel like what sets me apart is my ability to tell you a story through my mixes. Besides the art of blend; I always try to out my audience in a musical journey, almost like a music video.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I could give a list full of tips to help any other DJ out there but If I could give any advice it would be to stay true to self. It’s okay to adapt and it’s even more beautiful to grow but always stay true to who you are and what you love.
