Today we’d like to introduce you to BIGTAYLAAA.
Hi BIGTAYLAAA, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I first started getting into entrepreneurship, it was definitely hard. I kind of threw myself into everything without fully understanding the business side of things or doing enough research on how to build the lifestyle and career I wanted. From the outside, it probably looked easy because I always stayed booked and busy, but behind the scenes it took a lot of work, stress, and consistency.
I started off with modeling because it felt natural to me. In a way, I had already been modeling through Instagram since my page became my portfolio. From there, I got into music while still modeling, just experimenting with beats on YouTube and writing lyrics for fun. Eventually, I started acting too, while balancing modeling and music, and that’s when life became a lot more hectic. Even with the busy schedule, I love constantly having things to do because it keeps me motivated and pushes me closer to the goals I have for myself.
In the beginning, I reached out to brands, photographers, and agencies through Instagram to build connections and gain opportunities. With music, I stayed consistent on BandLab like many independent artists and eventually invested in my own equipment so I could create from home. As an actress, I learned through networking and working with other actors instead of taking traditional classes. I’ve always been someone who learns best through experience.
I’m still figuring out my path with school, but I do want to finish my bachelor’s degree in styling because fashion is another major part of my career goals. I eventually want to become a celebrity stylist in addition to building my name in music, acting, and modeling. I may not be exactly where I want to be yet, but I’m proud that I continue to stay focused, booked, and dedicated to creating the future I see for myself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have definitely been both smooth moments and difficult ones. One of the biggest challenges in modeling and acting has been getting turned down because of my height or not fitting certain industry standards. Sometimes my tattoos have also affected opportunities. Those things can be discouraging, but I’ve learned not to let rejection define me or stop me from continuing.
Music has honestly felt more freeing because I’m able to create independently without relying on a label. I’ve focused on networking, learning how to record from home, and improving my sound over time. I also work with a producer who helps me understand cadence, songwriting, and how to grow as an artist without overwhelming myself.
Even through the setbacks, I’ve stayed confident in myself. My face card never declines, and I know what I bring to the table creatively.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I consider myself a “queen of all trades” because I’ve never wanted to limit myself to just one career path. I’m involved in modeling, music, acting, and styling, but right now music is my main focus and the career I’m most passionate about building.
As an artist, I want to perform on big stages, see myself on billboards, and become someone who is truly booked and busy in the entertainment industry. Modeling and acting are still huge parts of who I am, but music is where I feel the most expressive and connected to myself creatively.
What sets me apart is my drive and willingness to keep going even when people doubt me. A lot of people discouraged me from taking music seriously at first, but I didn’t let those opinions stop me. Instead, I kept creating, learning, and improving. I’m someone who’s determined to build the career and lifestyle I’ve always imagined for myself, no matter how long it takes.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who or what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I honestly can’t say I’ve had a huge support system or a lot of cheerleaders throughout my journey. Most of the credit goes to me for continuing to push myself, stay motivated, and keep working toward my goals even during difficult moments.
At the same time, I do appreciate the mentors, creatives, and people I’ve connected with along the way who have helped guide me, taught me things, or opened doors for opportunities. Every experience and collaboration has helped shape me into the person and artist I’m becoming.
