Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Skolnik.

Hi Sam, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started stand up in New York 10 years ago and have been making films for longer! I moved to LA with my wife (then girlfriend) in 2017 to focus on acting and stand up after completing the Groundlings program. Since then I’ve booked some TV & Film credits, started a production company with my wife (then fiancée) in 2024 and produced many-a-project—most recently our upcoming feature documentary.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
NO! It’s been a long and winding and bumpy road that never ends! I still struggle everyday even as the well-known household name that I am.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an actor, stand up & filmmaker! I love and excel comedy but have also produced and starred in horror films. I’m super proud of all of our projects notably STAR.WAV & our feature documentary. What sets me apart is the fact that I am a triple threat, acting, producing & film editing. It’s not every day you meet a stand up that’s also an award nominated sound designer 🤷🏻‍♂️

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Go out and be with the people who also love doing what you’re doing. If you socialize and make human friendships the connections and network with be there.
