Today we’d like to introduce you to Rick Hierro.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Ricardo Hierro also known as Rick H. I’m the host, creator and producer of the “The Rick H. Show”. I Grew up in Washington Heights, New York. I’ve always had a passion for creating. Growing up, I loved Comedy, film, television, music, and sports. I also had a passion for Radio and sports talk. I dedicated myself to making my dreams a reality, while never forgetting to reach back to my community or lose sight of my authentic self. While I was attending City College of NY, I became the President of the radio station. At the time is was WCCR 640AM and I also become Vice President of the College’s Media Board. Rick While at WCCR, I also played the role of Program Director for the radio station. After college, I got involved in the non-profit sector by co-founding Give.Be.Grow, an organization geared to improving awareness in my community. I later worked for PAL (Police Athletic League of NY) for over five years, providing service to communities similar to mine. Then I decided to create Wadsworth Entertainment Group, LLC in early 2018 to create shows, documentaries, movies and sitcoms. My current project is “The Rick H. Show” which I started with my brother Benny Peralta known on the show as Benny Banks and my friend Paul Batomalaque a.k.a Pauly B. We began recording the show on Sept. 8, 2018 and it has been a hit since. Later on in early 2019, my longtime friend and collaborator Luis De Leon known as Craze joined the cast. The podcast has received a total of 21 nominations for the Latin Podcast Awards and has won the 2020 Latin Podcast Award for Comedy Interviews and the 2022 Latin Podcast Award for Comedy. I have also began working on a Documentary on podcasting, a feature film titled “Drunken Nights and Awkward Mornings”. The Rick H. Show is currently in production for it’s 13th Season.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This hasn’t been a smooth road. There’s been a lot of struggle and hard work but things that matter take struggle and Hard work. I have appreciated every step of this journey so far.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The Rick H. Show is a multiple Award-winning podcast that produces weekly episodes. Each week features a guest interview from different industries like sports, comedy, music, entertainment, art, fashion and more.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
In the beginning, we were recording our episodes in person of an audience. Then COVID put an end to that but we were able to take the show Virtually and grow from there. Producing the show it virtually allowed us to Interview guests in different states and countries.
