Today we’d like to introduce you to Mohamed Soltani.
Hi Mohamed, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my career as a visual designer driven by a deep curiosity for how design shapes perception, how something can feel elevated, emotional, or instantly recognizable without saying much at all. That curiosity led me to spend nine years at Yahoo, where I worked across large-scale digital campaigns, blending storytelling, strategy, and design across multiple platforms. It was a fast-paced environment that really sharpened both my creative instincts and my ability to execute at a high level.
Over time, I began to feel pulled toward something more conceptual and self-directed. I wanted to create brands from the ground up, not just respond to briefs, but define the vision itself. That shift led me to start building my own portfolio of creative concepts, exploring the intersection of identity, technology, and culture. A lot of my recent work leans into AI as a creative tool, not just for efficiency, but as a way to push visual boundaries and reimagine what branding can look like.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my work independently, developing high-end brand identities, digital experiences, and visual systems that feel distinct and forward-thinking. At the core of it, I’m interested in creating work that doesn’t just look good, but feels intentional, immersive, and memorable.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not really, and I think that’s been an important part of the process.
From the outside, spending years at an established company can look stable, but creatively, there were moments where I felt limited. Working within large systems teaches you a lot about execution and collaboration, but it can also make it harder to explore your own voice. One of my biggest challenges was learning how to move from being a designer executing ideas to someone confidently leading them.
Another challenge has been navigating how quickly the creative industry is evolving, especially with AI. Instead of resisting it, I made a decision to lean in and treat it as a tool to elevate my work. That shift took time, experimentation, and a lot of self-teaching.
Overall, it hasn’t been a smooth road, but each of those moments pushed me to become more intentional, more adaptable, and more clear about the kind of work I want to create moving forward.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a visual designer focused on building brand identities and digital experiences that feel both elevated and intentional. My work sits at the intersection of branding, storytelling, and emerging technology. I’m especially interested in how AI can be used as a creative tool to push visual boundaries and create something that feels new.
I specialize in developing concepts from the ground up, defining the creative direction, visual language, and overall feel of a brand before it ever goes into execution. Whether it’s a product, a campaign, or a full identity system, I’m thinking about how every detail contributes to a cohesive experience. A lot of my recent work explores high-end, editorial-style visuals paired with minimal, bold design systems.
What I’m most proud of is the body of conceptual work I’ve been building recently. Projects like NOVA, ARCADE, and OVENLY aren’t just visuals, they’re fully realized brand worlds. Each one has its own point of view, tone, and aesthetic, and together they represent the kind of work I want to keep creating at a higher level.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on making things look good, I focus on creating a feeling. There’s a strong emphasis in my work on restraint, composition, and storytelling, which allows the visuals to feel more impactful and intentional. Combined with my background working on large-scale campaigns, I’m able to balance concept and execution in a way that feels both creative and strategic.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that clarity is more powerful than talent.
Early on, I focused a lot on getting better at design, learning tools, refining my style, and trying to make things look impressive. But over time, I realized that what actually creates opportunities is being clear about your point of view, what you stand for, what kind of work you want to create, and what you don’t want to do.
That clarity affects everything. It shapes the projects you take on, the way you present your work, and how others perceive your value. Once I became more intentional about that, my work became stronger and more cohesive, and it started attracting the kind of attention I actually wanted.
It’s still something I’m refining, but I’ve learned that having a clear perspective, and trusting it, is what really sets you apart.
