Life & Work with Miranda Gasca of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miranda Gasca

Hi Miranda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off as a homebrewer with my business partner. We wanted to figure out a way to sell craft beer and cater to parties. We came across the Tap Truck concept and the entrepreneur in me saw it as an opportunity to pursue our vision. In pursuing this business venture, I was able to develop a mobile bar tending service with vintage trucks. I have always wanted to be a business owner and be able to offer job to those in my community. I saw a vision to be able to make money as well as support other small businesses along the way with this business model and therefore gave it my all. It is by perseverance and hard work that we were able to establish ourselves and create a supportive network. I take pride to be able to serve my communities and also use my business as a way to fundraise for all the greater causes in the community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, there have been many barriers in the way. Some of these barriers were right away, from struggles of not even knowing how to establish an LLC to how does licensing and permits work. The hardest barrier is always the health department, as we do not fall in a generic category of food trucks, but I do serve beverages. The challenge of being a first-generation business owner posed a hardship on me, but I pushed through, self-advocated and found support and guidance where I could. There are many challenges still, but each new challenge gives me the opportunity to problem solve and I take pride in finding solutions to make my business succeed.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a mobile bar, serving from vintage trucks. The theme we like to keep to is Vintage Trucks and Craft Drinks. We are known for having a 1955 White Chevy Panel Truck and a 1959 Tiffany Blue and white Apache Truck. We have taps on the side of the trucks and a bar top for the full experience. I am most proud of being a female first-generation business owner as well as having been able to bring my vision along with my business partner’s visions to life. My unique design and vintage trucks set me apart from others.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is going to work with my dad and seeing him have a successful business. I would love how he had the flexibility to spend time with my siblings and me. I saw how he was motivated to be a business owner so that we can have a decent living, but he also taught me the value of offering employment to others so that they can put food on their family’s tables too.
