Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Pardieu.
Hi Heather, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey in Los Angeles began in the electronic music industry, but as that chapter closed, my yearning for another creative outlet took me down a different path, ultimately leading me to working as a Fashion Stylist. My career styling started off by assisting some of the top stylists in Los Angeles, collaborating with a diverse rolodex of celebrities, and also managing projects and clients of my own.
When 2020 arrived, my career, like many others, came to a standstill. This moment in time allowed me to reflect on my life and to take an honest look at what truly ignited my creative soul. I realized that I needed to branch out artistically and find something else to indulge in. This is where my interior design journey began. While helping a friend with her personal organization, she shared with me her and her husbands vision of updating their home and thought I’d be a great fit in bringing their ideas to life. I called up my bff, who has a background in interior design, to see if she wanted to collaborate on this project – a topic the two of us had discussed numerous times before. We put together a presentation for the couple and they accepted! This was the launch of Foxfeather Design; executing a residential project that consisted of four interior rooms and one patio. This project felt like a natural evolution in my journey as an artist; I had finally found a new way to push my creative boundaries!
The year after that project was complete, I decided to up my education and enroll myself in the Architecture of Interior program at UCLA Extension. Challenging myself academically has been an incredibly enriching experience, making me feel more capable than ever to tackle any future projects.
Fast forward to 2025 – I’m still in school studying with an end date to the program that’s scheduled for March 2026. I am also working independently on developing Foxfeather Design, with a few solo projects under my belt and some that currently on hold. So overall, I’d like to believe that things are looking promising!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No road, nowhere will ever be smooth just be prepared for the ups and downs!
Some of the biggest struggles that I have faced is financial instability. Figuring out how to maintain consistent income in the field that brings myself joy can be hard to secure. I just keep telling myself that all this hard-work will pay off and to just be patient.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My passions for fashion and interiors sort of intertwine each other but in different ways. Fashion will always hold a special place in my heart, for I truly feel like it’s apart of my DNA. However, my current focus is on advancing my career as an Interior Designer.
What are you most proud of?
The things I feel most proud of is my ability to get back on my feet when something doesn’t work out. I’m at a point in my life that I am willing to embrace new challenges, even when I have no idea if it will succeed or not.
What sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart from others is my fusion of different career choices. I have the skills to create visual experiences across various mediums. My work is rooted in storytelling, where color, texture, prints, sound and details come together in unexpected ways. Blending these worlds into one excites me more than ever!
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
JUST GET STARTED! One step towards a goal is better then no step at all.
Anything you wish you knew when you were starting out?
Knowing your worth, protecting your time, and saying no to things that don’t feel like the best fit is just as important as saying yes.
