Today we’d like to introduce you to Geno Chapman.

Hi Geno, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Started my career off as a hairdresser with being on the Global Artistic Team for Aveda. Cut hair on stage all around the world and taught seminars after. I won the Oscars of Hairdressing for my Haircut Collections. I’ve travelled exclusively with David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay and their families to create all their looks. I started my own Men’s Haircare Line called GRAYLABL that helps me do charity work all over the world and I own my Salon Suite

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never smooth but if you put yourself in as a student, you learn to take those challenges and pivot. My struggles define my success, you just learn how to handle them better. Now I help those who are struggling in critical poverty and those here domestically how to change there stars in the craft of hairdressing

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My background is Haircutting and dressing hair. I’ve spent my whole career learning and teaching those to become more knowledgeable about our art. I’m most proud of my first time entering the biggest hair show competition in the world and taking first place and then entering many more after that and taking home the gold also. What this does it teaches you balance your aesthetic and what looks good on people

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Growing up in Hawai’i, it was all amazing being a misfit on an island. Spent my days skateboarding, spear fishing, graffiti and was a bboy back in the day
