Today we’d like to introduce you to Edoardo Santi Guidi.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m 30 years old and was born in Florence, Italy. I graduated in Interior Design, but over the past five years I have been living in Milan, where I have worked mainly as a freelance professional in the classic car world.
During this time, I have been involved in a wide range of projects and responsibilities, including restorations, collection management, investment funds, auctions, events, and many other aspects of the industry.
At the same time, I had the opportunity to work on my first real interior design project: my own home in Florence. It is a kind of house-garage, located just a few minutes from the city center, designed as an open-plan loft that brings together and celebrates some of my greatest passions: cars, photography, art, and design.
In many ways, this project represents the point where my different interests and experiences naturally came together, combining my background in interior design with the world of automotive culture and collecting.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Things developed quite quickly, but the journey was not without its challenges. One of the biggest obstacles was entering the classic car world without any existing contacts, connections, or external support.
It is a very exclusive industry and, paradoxically, also a relatively small one, so building trust and creating opportunities from scratch was not always easy. At the same time, those difficulties made every achievement along the way feel even more rewarding and gave me an even stronger sense of satisfaction.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At the moment, I’m focusing mainly on interior design and decor, while also dedicating a lot of time to one of my greatest passions: traveling.
I always try to combine different interests whenever I can. In Italy, we have an expression, “unire l’utile al dilettevole,” which means combining something useful with something enjoyable, and I think that reflects the way I approach both work and life. Whenever I start a project or pursue an idea, I naturally try to connect it with more than one of my interests.
What probably sets me apart the most, and what I’m most proud of, is my curiosity. I tend to become passionate about things very easily, and that curiosity constantly pushes me to learn, explore, and expand my knowledge across different fields.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I actually see a lot of similarities between who I am today and who I was as a child. I have always had a strong passion for cars and for anything connected to beauty, aesthetics, and design.
I was also always very observant, and I think a lot of my interests developed through simply paying attention to the things around me. I have always tried to enrich my perspective by looking closely at objects, spaces, details, and the way things are made.
