Hi D’Yani, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business with faith in God, determination, and a vision to build a worldwide brand. In 2013, while working a corporate job, I invested my earnings into launching my first clothing line, Grin’d&Bearit, a brand built around strength and fortitude through adversity. I dedicated countless hours to developing the brand from concept to completion, personally designing the logo and clothing, building the website and social media platforms, creating marketing and advertising campaigns, and overseeing every detail of the brand’s development. That hard work led to support from entertainers, television appearances, fashion shows, and opportunities to showcase the brand internationally at a major trade show. Most importantly, Grin’d&Bearit became more than clothing, it made an impact on the culture and connected with people around the world. That evolution led me to expand beyond fashion into film and multimedia with the launch of Grin’d&Bearit Worldwide Entertainment in 2025. The vision is to build a global creative platform that continues to inspire, influence culture, and expand the Grin’d&Bearit brand worldwide.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
What a great question. Although I wish it had been a smooth road, I am truly grateful for the journey. I have faced, and “continue to face” obstacles that have only fueled my mission. Being in business for 13 years comes with challenges, but you learn to pivot, adapt, and most importantly, Grin’d&Bearit. From inflation, tariffs, economic downturns, market saturation, industry strikes, and financial hardships, I’ve had to become resourceful, creative, and strategic with every decision. There have been moments when I had to do more with less, but those challenges taught me resilience and forced me to grow as an entrepreneur. Every obstacle has strengthened my belief in the brand and reminded me that adversity isn’t the end of the journey, it’s part of what makes the journey worth taking.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a multidisciplinary creative who works across various mediums of art, with a strong focus on storytelling through fashion, film, and multimedia. One of my proudest recent achievements was graduating with honors from Los Angeles Film School with a Bachelor’s degree in Film Production. I’m proud of how I’ve continued to evolve creatively while building my own path as an entrepreneur and filmmaker. What sets me apart is my determination, willingness to learn and adapt, and commitment to putting in the work necessary to turn ideas and dreams into reality.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me most is God, my family, and inspiring others. My faith keeps me grounded, my family gives me purpose, and my journey reminds me that our circumstances don’t have to define our future. In a world filled with discouragement and uncertainty, I want to be an example of what it looks like to persevere. If my story, my work, or my journey can give someone else the courage to keep believing in themselves and pursuing their dreams, then I know it has purpose.
