Life & Work with Cistain Alexander III of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cistain Alexander III.

Hi Cistain Alexander, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey began with a natural curiosity for harmonics. Even as a child, I was constantly finding ways to sing and harmonize with the world around me. As I moved into my teenage years, music became something almost spiritual, guiding me through experiences and answering questions for me. Over time, I found my own voice, embracing vulnerability in my writing and experimenting with different tones. Today, I view my relationship with music as a partnership: we step into a creative cave together, and once I emerge, I speak and sing whatever message the music wishes to convey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has certainly not been a smooth one, but those twists and turns were necessary for my growth. My biggest challenge was working through my own insecurities and finding a secure foundation within myself. Translating that internal struggle into my lyrics was a vital part of my process. I also had to learn to navigate change and develop healthy coping mechanisms, especially when walking away from certain relationships and environments that no longer aligned with my path. Ultimately, I realized I was my own biggest wall to climb, and by choosing to lock in and align my lifestyle with my destiny, everything began to smooth out.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I consider myself a musical muse and a storyteller, expressing my vision through lyrics and spoken word. I’m known for weaving deep narratives and often perform in a mask, which symbolizes my commitment to keeping the focus entirely on the music and its sound. What I’m most proud of is the journey of stepping into my purpose and finding the secure foundation that allows my voice, tone, and creativity to truly shine. Ultimately, what sets me apart is the authenticity that comes from walking in my unique purpose, and I’m incredibly excited about the upcoming music and the continued collaboration with other brilliant creatives.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is love, in all its forms. It is the guiding force behind everything I do and the core of my creative expression. Love connects us, inspires empathy, and allows us to understand each other on a deeper level. When you love what you do, the art you create changes—you can tell when an artist finds their way home. It matters because we need more love everywhere; it’s the spark behind the most amazing love songs, stories of falling out of love, and the foundation of loving who you are, yourself, and your art.
