Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Wolff.
Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was five, I was riding in the car with my mom and dad when a commercial came on the radio saying, “Do you want to be the next Hannah Montana?!” I immediately shouted, “YES!” My parents took that very seriously. Soon after, they helped me get an agent, and we started flying to Los Angeles for auditions. When I was seven, we moved here for my dad’s job—and just like that, I became a Valley girl!
After school, my mom would drive me and my brother to Santa Monica for our beloved “cattle call” auditions. Working toward becoming a full-time actress has definitely been a challenge, but it’s all I’ve ever known. In the last few years, I’ve started collaborating with my writer friends and creating our own projects. It’s been new and exciting for me, and I’m constantly learning more about the business side of the industry—which is insanley fascinating.
Its easy to get swept up in the thousands of unknown variables in this profession—but every bit of it feels worth it the moment I’m in my cute wardrobe and the director calls, “Action!”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course it hasn’t been a smooth road- but that’s show business baby! There are obstacles hidden in every nook and cranny of this industry but that’s also the charm and what makes the wins feel extremely rewarding. I’ll never forget when I was producing and starring in my first mini-series. We had a shoot day planned inside a school bus that we’d rented months in advance—but an hour before call time, the guy canceled on us! We had to somehow find a school bus to rent within an hour on a shoestring budget of $100! Now that’s exciting! We made it happen and now I have a school bus guy on speed dial forever.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actress and stand-up comedian who’s learning to wear all kinds of hats—whether that’s producing my own projects or even pretending to be my own assistant named Sarah to get through certain doors! It really has been such a blast.
I’m most proud of the projects I’ve created with my friends. My mini-series Saints All Summer, which I produced and starred in, just premiered on YouTube. It was incredibly rewarding to build something from the ground up. And of course, having a laughter filled stand-up show where I leave the stage glowing is always a highlight.
What sets me apart? Well, I guess I am the only Ashley Wolff out there—and that’s pretty unique!
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always open to meeting new people and collaborating on projects. We gotta help each other out! If there’s anyone reading this that wants to connect I am super approachable on social media so feel free to reach out! If you want to support me, the best way is to check out my projects (like my mini-series Saints All Summer on YouTube!)
