Today we’d like to introduce you to Agnes Grumslys.
Hi Agnes, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story really began long before Agnes Beauty & Wellness. I came to the United States from Lithuania in 2003, and I’ve now spent more than 17 years in the beauty and wellness industry. What started as a career in beauty slowly became something much deeper for me.
Over the years, I realized that I didn’t want to simply perform treatments. I wanted to create experiences that combined beauty, wellness, intentional touch, relaxation, and visible results. I wanted people to walk out feeling different, not just looking different.
That eventually became Agnes Beauty & Wellness, which I opened seven years ago. I created it to feel very different from a traditional spa. My European background is a big part of that. I’m constantly bringing in techniques, education, products, equipment, and inspiration from different parts of the world.
My work today focuses on advanced face and body contouring techniques designed to support lymphatic flow, reduce the appearance of puffiness and enhance natural facial and body definition. I also specialize in advanced facial techniques including Buccal, Kobido and Hadado, customized skin treatments, and beauty-focused post-procedure lymphatic care. I incorporate elements like sound therapy, energy work, nervous-system relaxation, sound baths and retreats to create a more complete wellness experience.
Even after all these years, I still consider myself a student. I travel, train, learn from specialists around the world and continue evolving because I never want to become comfortable doing something simply because “that’s how it has always been done.”
For me, beauty has never been only about what you see in the mirror. The glow you seek begins with how you feel, not just how you look.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not always smooth, but I think the challenges are part of what gave my business its identity.
Being a foreigner added another layer to building a business in the United States. I didn’t grow up here, and I don’t necessarily see beauty, wellness, hospitality or even client care through the same lens as someone who has lived here their entire life. Earlier in my career, that difference sometimes felt like a challenge. Today, I realize it became one of my greatest strengths.
I also learned that I don’t need to make my work look like everyone else’s. The way I care for people, the techniques I choose, the amount of education I continue investing in, and the quality I expect from myself are very personal to me.
I don’t believe in treating every client exactly the same because every person who comes through my doors is different. I pay attention to what I see, what I feel through my hands, what they tell me and, just as importantly, how they feel that day.
Many of my clients have been with me for years, and some drive quite a distance because they are looking for specialized techniques and beauty treatments that aren’t easy to find everywhere. Those relationships mean a lot to me. A client is never just another appointment on my calendar.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t have to appeal to everyone. You have to know what you stand for, continue getting better at it, and genuinely care about the people who trust you. Trends will change, machines will change and the beauty industry will continue evolving, but genuine human connection and intentional hands-on care can’t be replaced.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Agnes Beauty & Wellness is difficult to place into just one category because I’ve intentionally built it to connect beauty and wellness.
My specialty is enhancing natural facial and body contours through advanced hands-on techniques that encourage lymphatic flow and help address the appearance of puffiness, fluid retention and lack of definition. I also specialize in Buccal intraoral facial techniques, Kobido and Hadado, customized advanced skincare, post-procedure beauty and lymphatic support, and treatments that combine hands-on techniques with technology.
I’m a huge believer in the power of hands. Technology can enhance what we do, and I have invested in some incredible equipment, but I don’t believe machines will ever replace knowledgeable, intentional hands-on work.
The wellness side has also become an important part of what I do. I incorporate sound, vibration, relaxation and nervous-system support into the spa experience, and I’ve expanded beyond the treatment room through sound baths and my Flow & Glow retreats.
Even the environment matters to me. Agnes Beauty & Wellness is located in a historic European-inspired village, and I wanted the space to feel intimate, warm and personal rather than clinical or like a typical spa. From the moment someone walks through the door, I want them to feel permission to slow down.
My philosophy is pretty simple: Flow before you glow. I care about visible results, but I care just as much about how someone feels when they leave.
