Timonthy Morris shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Timonthy, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes of course there have been many! Recently I’ve been proud of.m the work I’ve been putting in. I’ve dropped about 60 pounds and I feel great and heathy. Putting that work in the gym allowed me to mold myself. I feel like a whole new person. Have you been able to book roles I’ve been wanting to work on for a minute because of the transition.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Timonthy Morris. I am an actor in Los Angeles. acting is my favorite outlet. I’m allowed to learn about myself and express myself in many ways. I also write and produce music as well one fun fact, for a lot of people don’t know about me that I was a former foster youth. And with that being allowed me to really push myself to a limit to make sure that my future is brighter, then my past.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I was always afraid to ask for help I didn’t want no help no trust is it always a big thing for me when I was a child I was very to myself, but with that being said, as I got older, I was able to you know, opened up the creek bunch of people and with that I was able to meet people there not only took me in, but Ming told me to take me to who I am no I’m able to basically pass the torch to other people and take everything that I’ve learned all the help improve like that and help others and I think helping others makes me happier because I know as a child if I had somebody to do that earlier I would’ve been a different person, so being able to be that person for someone else brings me joy
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
Movies and comedy that took me away from all the stuff that was going on a lot which made me want to become an actor way more because I was able to escape in a way, and basically live in the moment in a different setting that wasn’t always my own. I even like listening to music to tone everything out and even to this day, I still do that. Or I’ll even call somebody and just let them know what’s going on and let it all out.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I want to be the new Cyborg the new DCU movie and I’m willing to drop the way get in shape read the comics as you know do whatever it takes to get my name out there so that way we can make it happen. I’ve always love watching teen titans when I was a kid and especially when I had those beautiful moments sideboard that character always resonated with me I could always really cool it was very funny and everything she had a lot going on. Her story is actually pretty dark, but the fact that he in that show was always the light the person to help out, and the person always step up and be a leader when things were going wrong it just always resonated with me if I care of yourself if I ever had the opportunity to audition for him or be him I’m willing to do it!!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Oh yeah, of course because once you get what you want sometimes you get time passes by your happy but then you want to get more or two more of what that feeling is. In a kind of way I kind of like it because then I’m looking for a new goal to reach in what state I feel like. I am not only checking a list, but I’m learning a lot for myself.
