Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Graves.
Hi Randi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Randi Graves, founder of Good Point Pilates—a boutique Reformer and Infrared studio in the heart of Malibu. My journey into wellness started long before I opened our doors. I grew up playing soccer and snowboarding—always active, always outside. After earning my degree from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business, I moved to LA and worked in media buying. Sitting in a high-rise cubicle, I felt completely disconnected from my body and health. I was so burnt out that I rolled a medicine ball into the elevator and used it as my desk chair. I started doing crunches between meetings just to stay awake.
That small shift ignited something. I left the city and moved to Aspen, where I was introduced to Pilates—and it completely transformed my body and mindset. I got certified in all Pilates modalities through Pilates Sports Center and followed that up with a Health Coaching certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. With both tools in hand, I launched my first business back in Arizona, building my own website and client base from the ground up.
Life took a turn when I needed to return to LA to care for my mom who was sick. We signed a year lease together, but she passed away in just 2 weeks after moving in together. I suddenly found myself in an apartment without her, out of work, and unsure what was next. That’s when I turned to a healing program called Onsite—an experience that helped shift the entire trajectory of my life.
Soon after, I met my now-husband, who encouraged me to take a leap and open a Pilates studio in Malibu. I didn’t know a single person in Malibu, but something told me to trust the process. I truly believe my mother is still guiding me—because everything just fell into place.
What started as a small vision quickly grew into something bigger than I could have imagined. Today, Good Point Pilates is more than a studio—it’s a reflection of everything I believe in: movement, magic, and showing up fully for yourself. We’ve been featured in the LA Times and Malibu Times, and we continue to grow with a client base that includes both locals and visitors from around the world. Our space blends high-level training with intention, creativity, and community. It’s home to signature classes—like Malibooty and Surf Strength.
This is the most special community I’ve ever been part of, and I’m beyond grateful for every step that brought me here.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many small businesses in Malibu, Good Point has faced its share of challenges—most recently the impact of the Palisades Fire. We were forced to close our doors for weeks at a time, instructors couldn’t access the studio, and even after reopening, power outages left the building with major issues that turned clients away. The closure of PCH has continued to disrupt traffic and attendance, making daily operations unpredictable. Despite these obstacles, we’ve stayed resilient—pivoting schedules, supporting our team, and finding new ways to serve our community. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s made us stronger, more connected, and even more committed to what we do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Good Point Pilates?
What sets us apart is the energy of the space—it’s where high-performance meets heart. Think Malibu ease with a bold, no-excuses mindset. We’re equal parts coastal calm and unapologetic strength—a place where you can feel grounded, empowered, and just a little unstoppable.
With 105 weekly classes offered across both of our Malibu studios, there’s something for every schedule, mood, and movement style. Our studio is rooted in community and designed to feel like a breath of fresh, coastal air. Classes are capped for a more intimate experience, and every movement is intentional—backed by science, fueled by music, and delivered with major energy.
We’re most proud of the brand culture we’ve built. Good Point isn’t just about Pilates—it’s a lifestyle. It’s about showing up, sweating with purpose, and leaving more empowered than you came in. From our infrared wellness experience to our reformer offerings and custom programming, every detail reflects our mission: movement as magic, wellness as power, and community as home.
If you’re in Malibu—or just passing through—we’d love for you to experience what makes Good Point different. Come for the burn, stay for the vibe.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
There’s no way I could have built Good Point Pilates on my own. My success—and the soul of this business—has been shaped by the incredible people who have supported me every step of the way.
First and foremost, my mom. She’s no longer physically here, but her spirit is woven into everything I do. She believed in me deeply, and even in her final year, she showed me what strength, love, and grace look like. I truly believe she’s been guiding me from the start.
My dad, brother, and sister have also been rock-solid through every stage—cheering me on through the highs and holding me through the lows. Their belief in me never wavered, and that kind of foundation means everything.
My husband has been my greatest encourager. He’s the one who pushed me to take the leap and open a studio in Malibu when it felt like a complete unknown. His unwavering belief in my vision gave me the courage to trust myself and go for it.
And then there are my girlfriends—the women who remind me who I am on the days I forget. They’ve lifted me up with laughter, loyalty, and unconditional love. They’ve been my brainstorm crew, my marketing test group, my shoulders to cry on, and my biggest hype squad.
Of course, none of this would be possible without our clients and community. They’ve trusted me with their time, their bodies, their energy—and in return, they’ve brought so much life and love into the studio. They are what make Good Point feel like home.
Every step of this journey has been built on the shoulders of these people, and I’m endlessly grateful for each of them.
