Today we’d like to introduce you to Nune Grigorian.

Hi Nune , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
La Canada Dental Studio is a family dental practice. I had the dream of owning my own dental office for many years. The opportunity to actually do it came around in 2022 when me and my husband decided to open our own practices. My husband is a cancer surgeon and his practice is in the same building. We found the perfect location and started construction in 2022 and took almost a year a half to finish everything.
I have been a practicing dentist since 2007 but having my own business is very new to me. I was able to design my dream office and treat my patients in the manner that i would want to be treated. Our office is very open, inviting and new. We like to take our time and get to know our patients since they become part of our family.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to business ownership is not easy. There is no one to guide you so you kind of figure it out as you go. I do have amazing friends and family that have supported me along the way.
The construction phase was very difficult and costly. Being able to obtain the proper permits from the city in order to build a dental office is very difficult. We had to deal with multiple agencies and city inspectors. After the construction its dealing with the day to day issues such as finding the right people to help you run a business. We are still in the beginning stages so the struggles are still there.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a general dental office . We take care of families and their dental needs. Ethics are very important to us so we will treat you the way we treat our own family. Honesty is paramount in our relationship with our patients.

Many of our patients have high dental anxiety and have not been to the dentist since Covid started. We take our time with them and slowly walk them through all the procedures. We take photos and digital x-rays and show them everything so they understand. We help our patients with cleanings, fillings, crowns, veneers, implants and many other procedures.

How do you think about luck?
I think luck has to do with meeting the right people and getting the help or guidance that you need. Im very lucky to have some amazing dental colleagues that have given me valuable advise. I’m also very lucky to have a spouse that is very supportive and good with business side of things .
