Inspiring Conversations with Eric Edwards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Edwards.

Hi Eric, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Thank you for this opportunity. As a first-generation Californian, and second-generation real estate agent raised in Los Angeles, I have moved more than 20 times in my life; I’ve lived all across LA, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Ventura County.

During this time, I believe I experienced everything; the good, the bad, and all that lies between. I lived the dead broke life without a penny in my pocket trying to make ends meet. I jumped around from job to job, devoting my time to the search for opportunity: something that would help me escape this mess.

Then one day, I stumbled upon this quote by Jim Rohn, “To have more, you’ve got to become more.” And that was it for me.

After that, I chose to sacrifice every moment of my free time to work towards creating the right opportunities for myself: I was going to reach my goals.

My journey to success came from attending every seminar, reading every book, and studying every successful person I found, and using these tools to work on myself. In other words, I gave it my all.

That’s how I landed in real estate. I fled from San Diego to LA, where I teamed up with Shane Dulgeroff, a top-producing real estate agent in Westlake Village. He was the catapult to my success! Ever since, Shane has been a great business partner, mentor, and friend.

While the world was crashing down for many in 2021, I was able to buy my first house, grow my stock investments, and pay for my car in cash. This all came after having nothing just a few years prior.

Even though the small steps may feel redundant in the beginning, they mark your ultimate success. As they say, “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” Never giving up is the key here!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“Nothing good in life comes easy.” That’s my motto. Hardships defined the beginning of my quest. I put in thousands of hours of work, from door-knocking five days a week to holding open houses and hosting events with no salary. I would go months without making a single dime.

Even when I started out in real estate, I was living in San Diego, a city I was entirely unfamiliar with. Having connections is essential if you want to thrive in real estate, and those are precisely what I lacked.

Instead of changing my career path or caving into the challenges, I decided to move back to my roots in LA, knowing things would be more favorable for me there. Still, with a more favorable location I had to maintain the same level of dedication and hard work to get where I am today.

Despite the struggles I faced, I would not have it any other way. It’s shaped me into the person I am today. Sounds cliché, I know, but it’s absolutely true!

Without these obstacles, I would never have understood the value of perseverance, persistent effort, and resilience in the face of difficulties.

In the end, everything works out for the best, but the lessons you learn during the journey stick with you forever. I’ve learned to make the most of them!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in helping people buy and sell Real Estate. I have worked with a wide range of properties from condominium purchases to multi-million dollar homes. I’m known for being transparent and putting my client first.

It is an honor to earn anyone’s business, and I make it my top priority to ensure that my clients are well taken care of and that I provide them with top-of-the-line service.
