Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Berry.
Hi Diamond, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m 32, a mom, a wife, and the co-owner of a golf-themed sports bar that I started with my husband. It’s Black-owned, fun, and all about good vibes, elevated bar food, and of course—sports and golf. We wanted to create something different from the usual sports bar experience, and it’s been such a rewarding journey.
Entrepreneurship runs deep in both of us. I grew up watching my parents run a construction business for over 30 years, so I learned early on what it means to build something from the ground up—literally and figuratively. That background really gave me the foundation (pun intended!) to understand hard work, problem-solving, and how to bring a vision to life.
My husband has been in real estate for years, and that’s played a huge role in how we approached this project. His eye for location, investment, and design potential is unmatched. On top of that, I’m an interior designer, so when it came time to create the space, we really leaned into our strengths. From the layout to the smallest details, we wanted it to feel intentional—inviting, elevated, and full of personality.
We’re very different in how we approach things, but that’s honestly our superpower. He brings bold ideas, I bring structure and heart, and together, we’ve built something we’re really proud of. It hasn’t always been easy (starting a business while raising a family is no joke!), but it’s been so worth it.
It’s honestly been a dream to blend all these skills together—his real estate brain, my design and construction background, and our shared love for hospitality. Like I said we’re different in how we think, but that’s what makes the magic happen. Together, we’ve created something that feels like us—and hopefully feels like home for everyone who walks through our doors.
Our place is more than just a bar—it’s a vibe. It reflects who we are: hardworking, bold, family-oriented, and passionate about good food and even better experiences.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
From the outside, it might look like things fell into place easily, but the road has definitely had its bumps. We’ve faced everything from financial pressure to buildout delays to the struggle of getting permits approved—it’s been a process.
That said, we’ve always felt like God has had His hand on this from the very beginning. Even in the moments where things felt uncertain, we kept pushing forward because we truly believed in the vision and trusted that everything would come together in His timing.
In business, you’re *always* going to face challenges. That’s just part of the journey. But when you lead with faith, stay grounded, and refuse to give up, the sky really is the limit. We’ve learned to see the obstacles as part of the process—and honestly, those hard moments made the wins feel even more meaningful
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At **Par 3 Sports Bar & Grill**, we’ve created more than just a place to eat and watch the game—it’s an experience. We’re a **Black-owned**, golf-themed sports bar that combines elevated bar food, great energy, and a unique, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re a die-hard sports fan, a golf lover, or just someone who appreciates good food and vibes, we’ve designed Par 3 to feel like your go-to spot.
We specialize in **elevated comfort food**—bar favorites with a twist. Think fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and creative takes on classic dishes. We put just as much care into our cocktails and service as we do the food, and it shows. People come in expecting a sports bar, but leave talking about the quality of the food, the design, and how at home they felt. That’s something we’re really proud of.
What sets us apart is how intentional every detail is—from the menu to the atmosphere to the way we treat our guests. My husband’s background in real estate helped us find the perfect space, and my experience as an interior designer (plus my construction roots) allowed us to bring that vision to life in a way that feels *high-end but still down-to-earth*.
**Par 3** isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a reflection of who we are: passionate, hardworking, family-driven, and committed to excellence. Brand-wise, we’re most proud that people walk in and instantly feel something different. It’s not cookie-cutter. It’s *us*. Bold, warm, elevated, and full of personality.
At the end of the day, we want people to know that **Par 3** is about more than just food and sports—it’s about community, creativity, and culture. And we’re just getting started.
Any big plans?
As for the future, we’re dreaming big. Our goal is to **one day franchise Par 3 Sports Bar & Grill** and bring this unique vibe to cities all over.
We believe what we’ve created at Par 3 is more than just a restaurant—it’s a *feeling*. It’s that mix of community, culture, great food, and good energy that people are always looking for but rarely find all in one place. We’d love to recreate that experience in other neighborhoods, while still tailoring each location to reflect the local community it serves.
At the end of the day, we want Par 3 to be a name people recognize not just for the food or the theme—but for the *experience*. And we’re working every day to lay the foundation for that dream to grow.
