Inspiring Conversations with Colleen Kelly of Able Education Now

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colleen Kelly.

Colleen Kelly

Hi Colleen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I embarked on this mission with a sincere desire to support families facing disabilities. Drawing from my extensive background and expertise, I aim to offer comprehensive assistance to those in need.

With a Master’s degree in Special Education and over a decade of experience as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) classroom teacher in New York, I have honed my skills in catering to individuals with a spectrum of disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Multiple Disabilities.

Beyond the classroom, I have engaged with parents and caregivers on a personal level, collaborating with them to cultivate environments that accommodate the unique needs of both the child and the family unit. My approach prioritizes the holistic development and well-being of each individual, fostering an environment where both child and parent can flourish.

My clientele has ranged from toddlers as young as two years old to young adults up to the age of 25. I firmly believe in the efficacy of early intervention for younger children while also recognizing the importance of equipping older individuals with practical job training and real-life skills to foster independence and integration into society.

As I transition to the West Coast, I am eager to apply my specialized skill set to benefit families in this region. Whether you are seeking support for your child or guidance as a caregiver, I am here to help.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve experienced a seamless transition so far. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting an amazing community of individuals here on the West Coast, and I’m enthusiastic about delving deeper into their community and assisting more families.

We’ve been impressed with Able Education Now, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
