Inspiring Conversations with Carolyn Lemos of KIDNEYS QUEST FOUNDATION

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn Lemos.

Hi Carolyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Started in 2008.
As a non profit to bring awareness to the community specifically those affected by kidney disease. The intention is and has always been to educate and provide preventative solutions, supportive services, resources, advocacy and outreach programs to kidney patients, and to those at risk of developing the disease.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
IN the past some obstacles have been funding. Most of our staff are volunteers which leads to a high turnover rate. The community’s need outweighs the supportive staff. Adequate office space.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Kidneys Quest Foundation (KQF) is a compassionate non-profit kidney support organization dedicated to assisting families with kidney disorders and those in need of kidney transplant support services. For over a decade, KQF has empowered individuals and families across Southern California and beyond through education, advocacy, and community-driven programs.

Our mission is to provide kidney disorder assistance that promotes hope, dignity, and independence for every patient we serve. Whether you or a loved one are living with kidney disease, our goal is to help you find the strength and resources needed to live a healthier, more confident life. At Kidneys Quest Foundation, we focus on more than just treatment — we focus on people. We educate, guide, and inspire kidney patients to take control of their health journeys.

Our programs are designed to:

Kidney disorder assistance and navigation of healthcare and social service systems.
Educational programs promoting healthy lifestyles and community wellness.
Support for job readiness and re-entry into the workforce.
