Inspiring Conversations with Aaron Bautista of A & M Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Bautista.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been passionate about fitness and movement. Long before I became a certified trainer in 2019, I was already helping friends and family move better, get stronger, and feel more confident in their bodies. What started as a hobby became a calling, and I’ve been all-in ever since.

I began my professional journey at a studio in North Hollywood, where I developed my skills and built strong client relationships. From there, I transitioned into mobile training, bringing workouts to clients in their homes. Eventually, we built a private training studio at our home, and that’s now where I train full-time. It’s a space built for focus, consistency, and real progress.

I love what I do. Nothing beats hearing a client say their back, knee, or shoulder pain is finally improving—or seeing the pride on their face after hitting a new personal best. Whether it’s someone getting stronger, losing weight, or just feeling more at ease in their body, I live for those moments.

My whole philosophy is about building a lifestyle that’s sustainable and empowering. I don’t push extreme diets or unrealistic routines. Instead, I believe in small, consistent changes, mindful eating, and creating more opportunities to move. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about showing up with intention and stacking days of efficient action.

At the end of the day, I want people to feel capable, strong, and supported. That’s what this work is about for me helping people not just look better, but live better.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest obstacles I faced early on was getting people through the door. As a small, new business, it was hard to build momentum and gain trust. But I stayed consistent, learned through trial and error, and eventually began attracting new clients, many of whom referred their friends and family. Over time, I built a sustainable client base, and now I’m fortunate to train most of the day, seven days a week.

A more recent and unexpected obstacle has been dealing with imposter syndrome. As my business grows and more people choose to train with me, there are moments where I question whether I’m truly worthy of the success. But every time a client tells me they’re feeling stronger, moving better, or living with less pain, every time someone hits a goal or thanks me for changing their life, it reminds me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

What keeps me grounded is knowing that my role isn’t just about workouts. It’s about helping people create confidence, move with purpose, and understand how fitness and nutrition can fit into their real lives, not the other way around. That’s what personal training is to me, it’s personal, and it’s powerful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about A & M Fitness?
Fully private 1:1 personal training, and pilates.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the importance of listening. Personal training isn’t just about giving cues, correcting form, or sharing nutrition advice, it’s about truly hearing the client. If you’re not listening, you’re just giving them a generic workout, and that defeats the purpose of personal training.

Before every session, I ask how my clients are feeling physically and mentally, so we can adjust the plan to meet them where they are that day. Some days they’re ready to push hard; other days, they may need something more restorative. Being able to adapt on the fly based on what they share builds trust, safety, and real results.

I’ve also learned that sometimes what a client needs most isn’t just a workout, it’s to feel heard. Whether they’re having a tough day or need to vent while moving, just being present and listening can be as valuable as any exercise program. It’s about supporting the whole person, not just their physical goals.
