Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Jones.
Hi Tiffany , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Tiffany Jones is a manufacturing and supply chain executive with over 25 years of experience in the personal care and beauty industry. As the founder of Tiffany Jones Consulting, she specializes in helping brands scale through strategic sourcing, operational efficiency, and end-to-end supply chain optimization.
Tiffany began her entrepreneurial journey by founding Olimi Beauty, a profitable hair and skincare brand built to address the need for balanced oil and moisture formulations. She successfully expanded the brand into national retail, including partnerships with Citi Trends, while navigating the complexities of building a business with limited resources.
Previously, Tiffany served as Vice President of Purchasing for a multi-million-dollar diversified company, where she led global procurement strategies, negotiated multimillion-dollar supplier agreements, and improved inventory performance across complex operations.
Known for her ability to bring structure to high-pressure environments, Tiffany works with both emerging and established brands to stabilize operations, reduce costs, and drive scalable growth.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been easy. Building a business from the ground up—especially without significant capital—comes with constant pressure and uncertainty.
One of the biggest challenges was operating with limited resources while still needing to produce high-quality products, secure manufacturing partners, and meet retailer expectations. Every decision had financial implications, and there was very little margin for error.
Scaling Olimi Beauty introduced another layer of complexity. Managing inventory, forecasting demand, and maintaining cash flow while growing the brand required disciplined operational execution. Getting into retail is one challenge—sustaining it profitably is another.
There were also challenges around supplier alignment and production timelines. In manufacturing, delays, minimum order quantities, and shifting costs can quickly disrupt plans, so navigating those constraints required strong negotiation and contingency planning.
Beyond operations, there is the human side—leading teams under pressure, making difficult decisions, and staying focused when outcomes are uncertain. Entrepreneurship can be isolating, and resilience becomes a critical skill.
Those challenges ultimately shaped how I operate today. They sharpened my ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and build systems that are both efficient and scalable.
Tiffany Jones Consulting has faced a different, but equally complex, set of challenges compared to building a product-based business.
One of the primary challenges is proving value quickly in high-stakes environments. Many clients engage the firm when they are already under financial or operational pressure—cash flow is tight, teams are strained, and there is urgency for results. Establishing credibility, aligning stakeholders, and delivering measurable impact within short timeframes requires precision and speed.
Another challenge is navigating organizational resistance. In struggling businesses, change is necessary but not always welcomed. Teams may be fatigued, leadership may be misaligned, and processes are often deeply ingrained. Driving transformation means managing not just systems and strategy, but people, culture, and competing priorities.
Scope and expectation management is also critical. Clients often need comprehensive solutions—procurement optimization, inventory reduction, supplier renegotiation, and operational restructuring—all at once. Prioritizing initiatives that deliver the highest immediate impact while building a roadmap for long-term stability is a constant balancing act.
Additionally, every engagement is different. Unlike standardized environments, consulting requires rapid diagnosis of unique business models, supply chains, and financial structures. There is no one-size-fits-all solution, which demands both technical depth and adaptability.
Finally, there is the challenge of scaling the consulting business itself—balancing client delivery with business development, building repeatable frameworks without losing customization, and positioning the firm for sustained growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of Tiffany Jones Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Tiffany Jones Consulting is a strategic operations and supply chain advisory firm focused on helping beauty, wellness, and consumer product brands move from instability to scalable growth. The firm specializes in manufacturing, procurement, strategic planning, and global sourcing—areas that directly impact profitability and operational performance.
What sets the firm apart is its execution-first approach. Unlike traditional consulting firms that deliver high-level recommendations, Tiffany Jones Consulting is deeply embedded in implementation—working alongside teams to fix supplier issues, optimize inventory, and build systems that actually function in real-world conditions.
Another key differentiator is specialization. The firm is not a generalist consultancy—it operates with deep expertise in beauty, wellness, and CPG supply chains. That industry-specific knowledge allows for faster diagnosis of issues like formulation constraints, packaging sourcing, retail compliance, and margin pressure tied to global manufacturing.
The firm also brings a unique strength in navigating complex sourcing environments, particularly around tariffs, import compliance, and global trade. Many brands underestimate how quickly duties, misclassification, or poor sourcing decisions can erode margins. Tiffany Jones Consulting addresses this directly with tariff mitigation strategies, HTS classification guidance, and end-to-end sourcing alignment.
Another point of differentiation is the stage of clients served. The firm often works with businesses under pressure—whether they are early-stage brands trying to launch correctly or established companies facing operational breakdowns. This requires not just strategy, but the ability to stabilize, prioritize, and deliver results quickly in high-stakes environments.
Finally, Tiffany Jones Consulting stands out for its network and hands-on support. Clients gain access to vetted manufacturers, suppliers, and industry partners, significantly reducing the time and risk typically associated with sourcing and scaling.
In short:
Tiffany Jones Consulting is not just advising on growth—it is actively building the operational backbone that allows companies to survive, scale, and remain profitable.
How do you think about luck?
Luck has played a role, but it hasn’t been the driver.
Good luck showed up as timing—getting in front of the right retailers, meeting the right suppliers, or entering the market at the right moment. But those opportunities only mattered because I was prepared to execute.
Bad luck showed up as delays, cash flow pressure, supplier issues, and unexpected cost increases. That’s normal in manufacturing and supply chain. Those situations forced better systems, stronger negotiations, and tighter operations.
Bottom line: luck creates moments. Execution determines outcomes.
