Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
AirWorks Solutions began with a simple realization: homeowners deserve better. My husband Kevin was working as a technician for another company out of state when he started to notice how often customers were being overcharged or underserved. He takes deep pride in doing the job right, and it didn’t sit well with him.
That moment sparked the idea for AirWorks. We started small, just the two of us, with Kevin out in the field and me answering phones, scheduling calls, and figuring out the business side as we went. Over time, one customer turned into many, and word spread because people could feel the difference.
Today, AirWorks Solutions has grown into a trusted local HVAC and plumbing company serving Ventura County. We’re known for being “Family-Run. Mom-Approved.” and for providing honest, thorough service that keeps families safe and comfortable. What started as a way to do right by people has become a mission to build something that lasts, to create great local jobs, and to show that the trades are not just a career but a calling.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not even close. Building a business is never smooth, especially when you’re doing it while raising a family. In the early days, Kevin was working long hours in the field while I was managing the phones, the paperwork, and two little kids at home. I’ll never forget standing in the middle of the grocery store, juggling a toddler and a shopping cart, answering calls from customers who needed help. It was chaotic, but it mattered. Every single call was an opportunity to serve someone and keep the business moving forward.
Every setback has taught us something. The hard seasons built the kind of strength and clarity you can’t fake. Looking back, those bumps in the road are what gave AirWorks its heart.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that growth rarely happens in comfort. Every hard season has taught me something valuable and helped shape how I lead, both at home and at AirWorks.
I’ve also learned that you can’t do it all yourself. The right people change everything. When you trust your team and let them shine, the whole company grows stronger.
